This will be the first year me and my family will be attending games in Austin. I really want my kids to grow up being die hard 'Horns fans. I thought for our first encounter to Texas football is to walk around the stadium and see the excitement and support of 'Horn fans before, during and after the game. So my question is there a way to get info on tailgating sights that will allow you to hang with them by making monetary donations? After this I'd like for them to experience a game knowing htey will appreciate it more after experiencing the tailgating.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

I live out of town and don't participate in the tailgate scene when I go to a game once or twice a season. Maybe some of the regulars can better answer this one. I like the idea of fostering kids in the Horns culture and fandom.

    Good luck!:hookem:

Here's how my dad made me a loyal dedicated diehard Longhorn fan in the 3rd grade, first time around. He said, "Son, if you're gonna drink beer, then drink Budweiser. Son, if you're gonna chase women, chase beautiful blue eyed women. Son, if you're gonna be religious, then be Catholic. And son, if you're gonna be a football fan, then bygolly be a Texas Longhorns fan!" In other words, Poppa LC's motto was - If you're gonna do something, then do it right :hookem:. I let him down on the Budweiser part.

I worked for Anheuser-Busch in the 80's and I did not drink Budweiser unless it was a company event.

I don't tail gate when I go to games. We usually hit the Salt Lick or County Line before the game. We might stop at the TexEx students building, or go directly to our seats. Never saw tail gating as a great fan experience, and it's too much work to mess with.

I don't usually go to them anymore I'm mainly coral club then seats since my kids are so young but when ever me and the wife can sneak off by ourselves and catch a game which is prolly one game in like 2 seasons lol we can usually find a few tailgates down mlk somewhere. This was a few years ago though but I think it would be some people out and around of course. At the time it was maybe like 10 bucks but had food and drinks and whatever else you wanted, a lot of people music and a few other games going on tv's

I am part of a group that has tailgated together for the better part of 15 years. There have been many, many times that visitors have wandered by, said hello and ended up joining us for drinks and food. We have a tip jar out that is for optional donations. We've hosted fans of the opposing team as well as Longhorns. If you're friendly, most tailgaters will be friendly in return. You're welcome to drop by our tailgate anytime you'd like, we aren't that far from the stadium.

And we are at MLK and Red River, just north of the Erwin Center by that old stone house. After a couple cold ones with Robert, drop on by! Opening weekend is also my 50th Bday weekend so we will be celebrating for sure!

first year having Season Tickets as well. We got Purple Checkered Parking which are the Garages by Schultz's. Are we able to Tailgate in the Garages? Is it worth it?

I used to tailgate there on top when I had season tickets. We had a cozy little spot that we enjoyed.

Tico: check out Jalapeno Hot Shots Tsilgate on FaceBook and see if this is the kind of tailgate you might be interested in joining. Scroll down to the TWCnnees clip for a good story. This one is going to be hugh.
