Would he want to transfer to UT and would UT want him? It would most likely upgrade the QB room but would it throw a wrench into team chemistry? What would be the future of Sam Ehlinger if he came to UT and would multiple current QB's transfer out as a result? I don't think it will happen, just wondering.

No transfer to Big 12 teams. He should go to Washington State or California.

    Old,

The kid is a great talent, but he commits to Tech, last minute switch to Baylor through their "street agent". Now changing again. Something about him that reminds me of Rhett Bomar and/or Jeff George, but perhaps with more "agent" influence than the "pick your own adjective" parents.

Best candidates Loserville, Auburn, Ole Miss, Berzerkley, Houston, and if Graham can lie his way in enough Arizona State.

He should go to BYU. I like this scenario only in the knowledge that it would irk Baylor that much more.

McElwain just had another "quarterback" leave. I bieeive that is #7 over the last few years.

At BYU, he's not sure what he's getting since they have an entirely new coaching staff.

Petrino and Loserville would be a good choice for him - good coaching and low academic standards. Malzahn & Auburn fits his style as does that HS coach in Oxford.

He could risk Baton Rouge, where he would either win the Hype$man or never be heard from again, depending on the mood of the bad hatter.

    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

He could go to aggy and then transfer to Berzerkley in a year, in keeping with the latest aggy tradition.

He could go to UH and then become a thorn in our side when the powers that be force feed UH into the Big 12 expansion slots. :puke:

Might be same outcome for us if he went to BYU. I'd rather he go Aggy than come back and give us in-conference trouble with an expansion school.

Or maybe not, it does make me queasy thinking of Aggy having a very solid QB.

    Brad,

I have to acknowledge that Stephenville QBs have not been known for the best decision making, but why would he choose A&M not knowing who the HC will be. Granted either Herman or Fedora would be a great fit for him, but the Aggies could "Aggie it" and pick someone like Bill Callahan.

Seems to be the case more often than not. :smile1:

I'd have to imagine Aggy would be a consideration for several reasons...in-state major program, play in a power conference on a big stage, and there are limited obstacles in his way up the QB depth chart.

Stidham likely believes he'll beat out whatever they have after his solid 2015 production.

As far as head coach concerns, all kids can really go off of is who is in charge at the moment of choice. Speculation without factual basis of a change coming is lacking.

It's the same as players choosing Texas right now. Neither Strong or Sumlin is guaranteed safe for 2017 without a reasonable showing next year.

Either he'll believe Sumlin's pitch of a promising future and job security or not.

I have no clue who he's considering, but it makes sense Aggy would be given consideration with Big 12 schools out of the mix.

had we not gone all in on kyler murray we would have landed stidham. he wanted to come to A&M out of high school, but he was #2 on our QB board.

i think he'll consider us because 1) we're close to home and 2) we have no clear cut starter in 2017.

    joe,

After the way Sumlin lied to the previous QBs (3-5), do you tink he will listen to Sumlin? I expect that Briles and maybe Kendal will tell him to believe nothing that Sumlin says because he will be gone before Thanksgiving. I expect them to also tell him that the successor will be one of two coaches, both of whom are far better for his career than Sumlin.

As an Aggie, do you think the kids will throw in the towel if they lose to both South Carolina & Tennessee, starting 1-5?

i dont think sumlin lied to the QBs, i just dont think he managed or communicated well with them at all.

the talent is there for sumlin to have a decent year this year. 8 wins and he stays. anything fewer and he's gone.

really cant tell you what would happen if we start 1-5. i see us going 3-3 at worst in our first 6.

I'm still surprised the NCAA hasn't yet stepped in and granted all Baylor players and recruits a general release.

Have any of the Baylor players or recruits yet appealed to the NCAA, or has just hte threat been enough for Baylor to back down?
