    "The wait is over.

Nacogdoches cornerback Josh Thompson put all the speculation to rest when he flipped his commitment from TCU to Texas on Wednesday.

“Basically, I just feel at home,” Thompson said. “I have a great relationship with the players and the coaches. I really like the atmosphere there. It’s just a great place overall.”

Thompson originally committed to TCU in June over offers from Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Utah and a number of others. However, Texas continued to recruit him.

Things between UT and Thompson really started to heat in early July. Thompson then camped at Texas for Under The Lights and walked away with an offer from the Longhorns.

While he didn’t immediately flip, Thompson knew Texas would be a good fit for him thanks to the relationship he has with the coaching staff.

“Coach (Jeff) Traylor hits me up all the time,” Thompson said. “He shoots me texts back even late at night. We have a great relationship. Coach (Clay) Jennings is a great coach, and I’ve known him since he was at Arkansas. He’s straightforward and tells you what he means.”

Good stuff. Also mentioned here in On The Field forum earlier today as speculation was building.

Charlie is having quite a summer so far.

I also like that we are building a Keystone Pipeline from Austin to East Texas, especially Nacogdoches. Nac puts out a lot of talent

    to you Coach Traylor

We may look back on in this time in the future as the the turning point when the return of Texas football dominance reemerged, having two top ten recruiting classes, a good season, a bowl win, and a third straight top ten class.........at least I hope so. I still hold that 2017 is the year of the Horns.
