Sounds like Karen is looking for the next Nneka. Jordan Hosey 6'1, Jada Underwood 6'0, and now Lauren 6'0.

If the tweet is true (no reason to suspect it is not), Karen certainly does not let early player rankings (#44) influence her judgement.

I think the next Nneka is more likely to be 2018 Queen Egbo.... very similar player with a little more height. She's at the top of my wish list.

With W/F Shae Routt already a 2018 commitment, I'm surprised we'd pursue another (assuming they are similar players). Could also be that we don't plan to sign a W/F for the 2017 class unless Megan Walker decides to come here.

Texas in the Final 8 for current #2 overall, Christyn Williams, from Little Rock. I don't remember seeing her associated with Baylor so I was surprised to see them listed:

Coach A definitely is a tireless recruiter; I should learn not to underestimate her when it comes to building relationships with elite recruits across the country. While we may not end up signing players like Megan Walker, Rellah Boothe, or Christyn Williams, it sure is a testament to her hard work that she is putting Texas on the minds of the nation's elite high school players despite Texas not having been to a Final Four in around 13 years. Hopefully, the Final Four will be a next step, and Coach A will reap the recruiting benefits of that accomplishment.

As for Christyn Williams, I have no idea where we stand. I recall she took an unofficial visit to Tennessee last Fall. And, tripped to UConn unofficially with 2017 Texan (and now UConn verbal commit), Lexi Gordon. She plays her club ball with Texas United, so she probably does know many 2017 & 2018 players from the state of Texas. We lose 3 guards after the 2017-18 season, so one would think we'd be needing at least one guard for the 2018 class.

I've always felt she was a UConn lean, but UConn is set to sign three G/W players for 2017, and is still trying to sign Megan Walker. That might have no bearing, but none of them are PGs. I thought Chrisityn was going to play PG in college, but I think she is more likely to play SG.

Yes... if I were to prepare an evaluation of her it would be spot on with this. Man, I hope she chooses us! She's the perfect for the style of play we're incorporating.

good to see we are still in Charli's list. She and Sedona list four of the same schools in their lists.

As stacked as the state of Texas is for point guards in the class of 2017, it seems equally stacked with frontcourt players for 2018. To me, Sedona Prince is a true Center, and there just aren't many players who went to play that position in college. Would love to get her back in the fold. Then, you have Charli Collier, Queen Egbo, and Nalyssa Smith; each to me seems suited to play PF in college. If we can get Sedona and one of those other three, we would be in great shape down low.

Texas makes initial cut for #7 overall, 5-10 PG Honesty Scott-Grayson, from Brick, NJ:

    ESPN Scouting:
Athletic lead-guard with a scoring punch in the back court; handles, collapses defenses, elevates in mid-range game; anticipates, active in passing lanes, converts off turnovers; among the elite guards in the class of 2018.

    ProspectsNation ranks her #4 overall.

PF Nalyssa Smith visited Texas today. Looks like the ultra-athletic Converse product (#12 overall) enjoyed the trip:

ESPN lists her at 6-2 but she claims 6-3.5. Based on the photo, I believe her. ProspectsNation has her #5 and the girl has serious hops:

Great news about Nalyssa visiting unofficially. She is one of the front court players I'd love for us to sign for 2018.

Not sure if it means much, but a few days ago, Queen Egbo started following Asst. Coach George Washington on Twitter; but, she also started following assistant coaches from Okie State and Utah.

Would be nice if she has a connection to Brandon Jones that would weigh heavily in UT's favor.
