I think this year's game should be a low scoring one. I hope Clemson pulls off the upset this time.

I wonder if Clemson has a chance.

Alabama defense is the 2nd best ever, in my opinion. The best ever was the '83 'Horns.

I think it was Ole Miss who scored 43 on Bama these past two years. I don’t know how they did it but Clemson needs to look hard at that.

Alabama does not march down the field and score very much. Give them a turnover and they come to life. I think field position and turnovers will decide the game. If Clemson can keep both in their favor they can win. Washington was giving up 15 yards on every punt. Alabama defense will probably not give up a long drive so again field position will decide the game.

I hope Clemson wins, but anyone who complained about Mack Brown after the 2004 season needed to listen to Cabo last night. He sounded like a whiny baby going through their resume' and calling themselves an elite program. They are already in the playoff and now in the NC game. Give it a rest already.

Clemson's will be making the championship two years in a row now and will be very hungry. I also like the Tiger's QB better than the Tide's in terms of experience and overall leadership. As stated by some of you the Tide's defense considered one of the best ever, especially up front and as they can put tremendous pressure on the QB with only four rushing. It's going to be a good game. I like the Tigers in this one based upon QB experience...

The 2005 defense was pretty good too. ;)

Also none of old Saban's former assistants have every beat his as a head coach. Maybe this this will be Swinney's year.

Many years ago Aggy had a bad-a** defense vs the run. Frank Broyles' Razorbacks got big splits and ran right at them and kicked their butts. Invite the bull rush and use their inertia against them to create even bigger holes. Get that running game going and force one or both safeties up...Then light that Bama secondary up.
Clemson's dual threat QB with speed will add another dimension the defense has to contend with.
Bama is beatable. You just can't turn the ball over, and you must use their strength against them.
On defense you have to focus on TWO things...Hit that big steroid beast low and often, as well as that QB. Make the other guys beat you ( they can't ).
I'd even give up a 15 yard penalty early just to put a huge hit on that QB to rattle his Freshman butt for the rest of the game.

To be honest, he was in a tough spot. I wonder if any skullduggery was going on, like trying to get disgruntled Bama players to transfer.

He must be a great coach to keep getting jobs despite himself.

Maybe Kiffin was tired of the ***-chewings.

Once Kiffin got the FAU job, he probably turned into a little pain in the *** to Saban. Just conjecture. I have learned through the years when an employee gives two weeks notice, pay him for the two weeks and show him the door. Usually, nothing good happens by keeping an employee on the job for the final two weeks.

I have always done stellar work in my final two weeks because I'm fearless at that point and no longer have to worry about the consequences. That said, I totally agree with you.

How Kiffin left his last 4 jobs: called a liar by Al Davis; riots at Tennessee; fired at LAX airport; fired before national title game.

^ That's pretty epic! I mean, he's got getting fired down better than anyone. I'm truly impressed.

Is Dabo Bama HC "in waiting"?!? Seems the natural choice whenever Saban's had enough!!

I'll bet that is the only job that he would leave for.

He needs to stay put if he is smart, unless he would take the Notre Dame job. He shouldn't go to Bama until the next guy fails at Bama......Why follow a legend ? That usually ends badly. Ask Charlie, and numurous others.

^ He should do whatever makes sense for him, but I totally agree that following a legend doesn't normally work out for the new guy.

    Dabo is no Charlie.

How often does a school choose an elite coach with national championships under his belt to be the next coach? They're so few and far between, you just can't find a trend.

It will be interesting to see how long Saban continues to coach. Bear Bryant coached until he was 70 and died right after he retired. Saban is only 65. Will Saban start to slide or quit on top?

Only one i can think of off hand in the recent past was Miles following Saban @ LSU

Speculation - was this championship game the dynasty buster and we see 'bama/SEC start to lose their luster? Will be interesting to watch.

As long as he gets the recruits, he stays on top. And I make n predictions there except to say this game did not hurt him in that area. He can make the pitch to any prospect that he (the prospect) is just what Bama needs to win that game.

Meyer, unfortunately, has done well following The Vest.

OK, forgot that one. Perhaps that's the closest parallel for Dabo going to AL - NC winner going to another school following a legend.
