Don't know if I've been sleeping through this season, but I missed the coaching staff change at Tech, with Tubby Smith's departure. Head coach at Tech is Chris Beard, who was a student assistant under Tom Penders. He graduated from UT and has coached at Little Rock, Angelo State and McMurray University. He also worked as an assistant at Tech under Bob Knight. His staff includes associate head coach Chris Ogden, who played at Texas for Rick Barnes and served as an assistant coach under Barnes at Texas and Tennessee.
