The entire press conference is below. I've only watched excerpts myself. Clearly, Trump is at war with the mainstream press and a good portion of the leadership within the intelligence agencies which is driving the media. Alexander Mercouris has a short analysis of the press conference here (Link).

    Summary of the Mercouris article:

    Key points:
    1. Trump has delayed attempts at "detente with Russia" until he gets his domestic house in order. Trump in essence stated the Russians have no reasons to believe Trump could deliver on any promises unless he shows his own government is behind him. Here's an excerpt from Trump's press conference.

If we could get along with Russia, that’s a positive thing. We have a very talented man, Rex Tillerson, who’s going to be meeting with them shortly and I told him. I said “I know politically it’s probably not good for me.” The greatest thing I could do is shoot that ship that’s 30 miles off shore right out of the water.

Everyone in this country’s going to say “oh, it’s so great.” That’s not great. That’s not great. I would love to be able to get along with Russia. Now, you’ve had a lot of presidents that haven’t taken that tack. Look where we are now. Look where we are now. So, if I can – now, I love to negotiate things, I do it really well, and all that stuff. But – but it’s possible I won’t be able to get along with Putin.

Maybe it is. But I want to just tell you, the false reporting by the media, by you people, the false, horrible, fake reporting makes it much harder to make a deal with Russia. And probably Putin said “you know.” He’s sitting behind his desk and he’s saying “you know, I see what’s going on in the United States, I follow it closely. It’s going to be impossible for President Trump to ever get along with Russia because of all the pressure he’s got with this fake story.” OK?

And that’s a shame because if we could get along with Russia – and by the way, China and Japan and everyone. If we could get along, it would be a positive thing, not a negative thing……

All of those things that you mentioned are very recent, because probably Putin assumes that he’s not going to be able to make a deal with me because it’s politically not popular for me to make a deal. So Hillary Clinton tries a re-set. It failed. They all tried. But I’m different than those people.

    2. Trump will call on the Justice Department to look into the CRIMINAL LEAKS put out by the intelligence agencies. Now that Sessions is heading the DOJ Trump should have the backing needed if he is going to take on and root out the other agencies opposing him. Another excerpt:
Yes, we’re looking at them very — very, very serious. I’ve gone to all of the folks in charge of the various agencies and we’re — I’ve actually called the Justice Department to look into the leaks. Those are criminal leaks. They’re put out by people either in agencies — I think you’ll see it stopping because now we have our people in. You know, again, we don’t have our people in because we can’t get them approved by the Senate.

Is he still winning? Did he get tired of winning yet or did his supporters get tired of winning. He has been doing a lot of winning you know, thats what he does and its great I tell you believe me.

I thought he may have leveled out for a bit, but just as everyone during the campaign learned at one point or another during the election cycle, false alarm.

Yeah, he's still winning...big league. Like probably winning bigger than any other President at this point in his term. :smile1:

In all seriousness, DT was getting it from all angles after Flynn. Mind you, after Flynn's legal communications were illegally made public. In response to the unrelenting attacks, he reached out to his army and circled the troops.

The resolve and resistance to MSM spin within his ranks has never been stronger after he just reminded his supporters exactly why they joined his war on the swamp.

MAGA is as strong as ever, trust me! :usflag:

Rush called it the "greatest press conference ever".

John Waters said Trump got in some "good body blows".

He's standing up to them. Seems like he's back in campaign mode now, which is a good thing.

Trump is a pretty good media critic. Unfortunately, his current job is POTUS. As much time as he spends reviewing media sources (TV, print) his other job may be suffering. He's a good campaigner though.

I especially liked the "Tomorrow the headlines are going to be ‘Donald Trump rants’ — I’m not ranting and raving". It was a great press conference, just not in the way Rush thinks it was. He got in some good body blows and head shots too, unfortunately it was as if he was punching himself. He standing up to a self made image of the media, sorry if you are constantly lying about things and getting upset people are gonna call you out on your ********.

Its dam good tv, cant wait for snl skit. They need to re-cap everything he has been winning on.

I don't like Shep Smith, but his obvious dislike of Trump is perfect for the people who say every Fox News anchor is conservative and loves Trump.

I loved the PC yesterday. No surprise the press hated it. Who could possibly have expected a positive response from them?

SNL should just replay the conference as is. No need to gussy that up. As is it's fodder for SNL's base audience anyways and would gain audience of those who love trump.

You guys do know it's possible to have enjoyed seeing some of the most partisan media figures get kicked around (and deservedly so) but also admit that Shepard Smith makes some perfectly valid points, right?

Shep Smith is an asshat who's default setting starts and stays on Trump bashing.

I wouldn't waste 2 secs watching that clip. Haven't watched any of his undercover Lib ranting in months...same with every Rep I know.

I heard Trump called Shep last week, told him "Biff wants his 1950's flat top back."

Shepard Smith was tough on the Obama Administration, and he's tough on the Trump Administration. He's not an asshat. He's a journalist who's doing his job, unlike most.

That's a good point, but he seems be going beyond the skepticism journalists are supposed to have.

His whiny, performance-art piece about Trump seemed pretty asshatterish

My sense is that most Fox watchers considered him left of Megyn Kelly long before Trump became a politician.

It it his ticket out of Fox? Or, given that Murdoch does not care for Trump, is Smith's CNN-like emoting temper tantrum done with the blessing of his bosses' bosses' boss?

    No argument on that.

Neither Smith nor Kelly are left. They're center-right. Nevertheless, the characterization of him depends on what you think a responsible newsman's job is. Is his job to make the Administration look good, or is his job to be a skeptic? Smith is a skeptic.

Assuming for the moment that you are correct and he is attempting to be"a responsible newsman," then the job starts with honesty, telling the truth, being able to recognize the difference between fact and opinion and leaving your personal politics out of your responsible news reporting. On this, Shep Smith is a failure.

George Takai (Mr. Sulu) has a twitter account with 2M followers
He ran his own Trump v. Media poll
    Didnt like the results
So, in true modern liberal form, he just deleted the poll, and pretended it never happened

    -- sigh --

OK. He said Trump is a serial liar as a statement of fact. This is his opinion, at best.

Smith went off on Trump's electoral margin comment. Trump said he was referring to modern R candidates (in other words, Romney, McCain, W, Dole and HW). Shep left this qualification out. Why did he do that? (hint: there is an answer to that question, it is not rhetorical)

Shep said Russia "hacked the election." This is not factually correct (which is sometimes known as a lie). What it also is, is a liberal narrative. One of the ways the modern media works is that they set a narrative and then ignore facts contrary to their narrative or bend facts to fit that narrative. They "backdoor it." This is what Smith is doing here. But this, of course, is not how honest journalists work.

He also said "at the time the Russians were hacking the election .... your guys were on the phones with the Russians" Again, this something not proven, compounding the false premise. While it may some day turn out to be true, Smith has no way to know that as of today. In typically bad form for him, he simply assumes the liberal narrative is true. Yes, it is true that there have been many media accounts making this same claim (as fact) but media accounts are not facts.

He said Trump did not answer the question about the Russians, and claimed Trump has repeatedly failed to answer it. This is also factually false. Trump did answer. IIRC, he did multiple times. What is happening here is that Smith simply does not like those answers. But this is, of course, is not the same thing as "not answering the question." (and it is also inventing a new standard to apply to Presidents, one that was never applied to Obama).

Trump said the media's Russian narrative is all all a big ruse. This is his opinion. But Trump has more facts to support his "ruse" opinion than Smith has to support his opinion that "the Russians hacked the election." Indeed, there are zero facts to support the idea that the election was hacked (by anyone). If anything should be clear to a reasonable person by now, it is this.

Smith says fake news about the leaks/Flynn is "impossible." This statement is false on its face.

He says Trump fired Flynn over the leaks. This is also false on its face. Then Smith tried to crabwalk this false narrative back claiming some "confusion."

Smith also claimed he doesnt care about anything Trump tweets about fake news. Then went onto to discuss the tweets in very excited (almost spitting) fashion. Clearly Smith's actions betrayed his words.

He also defended CNN from Trump's fake news accusations. It's hard to say exactly what Smith meant since, by this point, he was so overcome by emotion that he had begun to stutter. But, in any event, I think everyone on the planet by now knows CNN reports crap all the time. They are like a giant septic tank full it. Ratings suggest the majority agrees with me on this. Plus, I post on this all time time. If you have doubts, I would urge you to go back and look at my posts on CNN.

Name a pro-Trump anchor on CNN?
    Anderson Cooper? nope, sorry
Don Lemon? dude's a full on hater
    Erin Burnet, lol
    Blitzer, brain dead?
    Carol Costello, lol
    Chris Coma, heh
    Zakaria? heehee
    Fake Yapper? please

But it does not stop there. These people, to a large degree, have their agendas set for them by producers. I dont know if you know this already or not, but CNN's primary source of producers is Columbia J-school. And that J-school is pretty much a Marxist widget factory. It's a bad situation. I hope after CNN recognizes Smith is applying for a job and hires him away, that the entire outfit from TW on down fails. The country will be better off for it.
