The media story today was about itself, of course.
But something of much more importance to the country happened. Trump signed a regulation reform EO. I dont know if they schemed it this way (I suspect they did). The White House knew the media would freak out about the composition of the press gaggle and that story would dominate. It took their eyes off the bigger news. As far as I saw, only Reuters recognized the importance of this EO.

Trump dropped a bomb with his Regulation Reform EO. It is going to have a huge impact on the country. Regulations are job killers. For example, the coal reg that was struck down last week saved ~70,000 coal jobs. If Clinton won that reg would have stood.

One of the things the Dems are doing by stalling Trump Cabinet is to stall the reg repeal bills that are coming from the House. For example, HJRes67 and 68 are Obama Labor Dept regs that specifically targeted the private sector. The Obama-required compliance cost ~$400 million per year.

60 days RRO's will be established. 90 days RRO's will report. Regs will be marked for destruction which will lead directly to job growth.

    NBC/WSJ poll (D+5 sample):
-- GOP viewed significantly more favorably than Dems
-- Pelosi = least liked politician in USA (-25) vs Trump (-4)

    That's some deep hitting analysis.

Step 1: Analyze the posts. (Check!)
Step 2: Analyze who made the posts (Check)
Step 3: Analyst the time the posts were made (Check!)
Step 4: Assume they were paid. WTF?

I'd accept that they were "bots" as those seem to be endemic all all sides of the issues and platforms (Twitter, Facebook, etc.).

Lie, cheat, steal, disrupt, attack...the Democratic party has been hijacked by radical, ant-American, morally bankrupt scum. So glad they're on life support thanks to DT.

Zerohedge reported Trump is proposing a 37% budget cut to the State Department. Personally, I think that would be outstanding, but Lindsay Graham as well as the rest of the D.C. Establishment has already pronounced this dead on arrival. There's no way Trump can accomplish anything he wants short of throwing about one or two thousand bureaucrats into the gulag.

They need to be careful here - so much of the GOPe derided Trump for not being a "true conservative" and here he comes with big budget cuts to shrink the size of government. If they fight him on this he can rightly label them as being the ones who are not conservative.

I don't know that his reasons for cutting the State Department have much to do with being fiscally conservative so much as they do with purging the bureaucracy staffed with neoliberals and Clinton disciples. But whether it's about saving dollars are removing hostile ideologies, I'd be good with it.

It has to be top down on the left because they all have such niche issues they couldn't/wouldn't come together without a top down approach. Most African Americans I know, are adamantly against gay marriage as are most Latinos. They only way they get convinced to show up LGBT is when the top down approach convinces them that they only way to get support for their issue is to show up (or at least not criticize)the other niche groups (eg. LGBT actions and events.) That 'big tent' is really just a few pup tents held together with bailing wire.

Trump signed H.J Res 40 today

Repeal of Obama's Social Security Gun Ban -- basically Obama wanted to send in ATF agents in raids to seize the guns of people on SS who voted Republican

The Democrats remained seated when President Trump said "We do not represent the world, we represent the United States"

Think of how long we heard -- from the media to many people here -- that this moment was not possible, would never be possible. 18 months? 2 years?

Hahaha...in their response to the President's address, former Kentucky governor Beshear is sitting in a dinner with only old white people who are window dressing.

Man, democrats are really stupid. Do they think all those folks in the rust belt are going to fall for this charade? Lol.

Apparently while the widow of slain Navy Seal cried thru a 2m standing ovation, Debbie Wasserman Schultz & Keith Ellison sat firmly. Neither clapped. I dont see how you could do that under the circumstances

He blasted the state of the country pretty good too. I was wondering if he was having a senior moment about how long Trump has been in charge.

This is (the response) kinda funny, not like Rubio and the water, but funny still.
I never get the no applause - no stand up, and now leave early, role of the opposite party. Just seems so trivial and immature, regardless of which group.

    Mr. Deez Beer Prophet

I never understood why him taking a sip of water became such a big deal. To me, that's indicative of the shallowness of the political commentariat. I don't think most people would have thought anything of it if commentators hadn't made a big deal of it. Hell, we all drink water. If he had taken a sip of beer . . .
