Interesting...I'm taking the over on the Horns! Early college football over / unders By win total number Alabama 10.5 -150o Ohio State 10 -125o Oklahoma 9.5 -145o Florida State 9.5 -130o Penn State 9.5 -125u Wisconsin 9.5 -125o USC 9.5 -135o Washington 9.5 Clemson 9 Oklahoma State 9 Virginia Tech 9 Louisville 9 -120o LSU 9 -120o Michigan 9 Miami 8.5 -120u Stanford 8.5 -130u Auburn 8 Oregon 8 Florida 8 -120u Georgia 8 Colorado 7.5 -125u Pittsburgh 7.5 Kansas State 7.5 -125u NC State 7.5 Tennessee 7.5 -130u Texas 7.5 -120u Washington State 7.5 -125o West Virginia 7 -120o Texas A&M 7 TCU 7 -125o North Carolina 7 Northwestern 7 Arkansas 7 Iowa 6.5 -120u Georgia Tech 6.5 Michigan State 6.5 -130u Missouri 6.5 -120o Utah 6.5 -120o Nebraska 6 -125o Texas Tech 6 -120u UCLA 6 -135o Kentucky 6 -130o Indiana 5.5 Arizona 5.5 Mississippi State 5.5 South Carolina 5.5 -125u Duke 5.5
Take the over. Who poses the ability to beat us? USC OU oSu not a helluva lot left on the schedule. except Tech will likely being playing their last game for Kingsbury, so they could jump up and bite us, but my guess is they get pissed and lay down.
So, Herman will take us to a NC, swear to God he is staying but then leave for a NFL gig, have little success but swear to God he is staying and then leave to coach OU to 6 NCs.
Oh my 7.5 is the number. I was expecting 8.5 I have a friend who lives in Las Vegas now, I may have to go all in on this one, over for sure What is the payout, I don't understand the number after 7.5
We have taken a lot of good teams to Manhatten and it took a final play blocked FG to win the one we did. God it was cold.
Vegas apparently forgot that we changed coaches. 7.5 would have been expected for Stong. Herman is a solid 10 and I will put the money down when I go there.
7.5 - 1.5 = 6 ...... not Strong's 5 win total. I am predicting 10 wins including the bowl win. We have the right Coach, he just needs to cease and desist kissing the players.
I think the reasonable top regular season total with a new coach, new system is nine wins. If Horns win nine and then show up in a bowl game and make it ten, it will be a very successful first season for Herman. 8-4 regular season would be alright. 7-5 with a bowl win to eight total would be a tepid "ok" season. And I finally agree with IDH on something: the player kissing must stop.
I don't bet in Vegas very much, would the bet be on regular season, or regular season + Bowl game if there is one?
It doesn't matter. If Herman can't win 8 with this schedule and the level of competition across the field, we have serious problems on this team and in our program. It takes an exceptional coach to lose 6+ with the level of opponents we=ve had the last couple of years - EXCEPTIONALLY BAD! See also Charlie Strong
I spoke with Mack and Sally at a home basketball game right after his first season was over. I told him "If you beat OU, beat Nebraska and win the bowl game (which had all just happened), then you can keep this job forever". He did that Mack smile and laugh and said "I'll keep that in mind". And this was before I even knew about Sally's cookies!
agreed. I think 8 and will be very glad for 9. It's still the first year in new systems for these players.
Herman said "Championships" so before you get to Championships you have to have a Championship. Why not start now?
Badass, I think the way you read the negative numbers is that is the amount you have to bet to win $100. i.e., -120u means put up $120, and either be out that amount on a losing bet, or get back $220 (your original $120, plus your $100 winnings). Somebody correct me if I have the details wrong...
The -120 U means that what the odds are on betting under 7.5 games. I.e... Bet 120 to win 100 Texas doesn't win 8 games. Texas has not covered an over win total since 2009. And those game totals do not include bowl games at any sports books. Never have. Just regular season. I'll bet the over, but it's not a good spot for Texas this year. If you could make a bet they'd win a NC in the next 4 years I'd take that, but you can't.
As a side note, it is not necessary to bet solely in increments that get the $100 return. You can walk up to the Sportsbook window and put down basically any amount. The ticket will show what was bet and what the win would be if the event comes out as bet. That being said, one also needs to be aware that different books may be slightly different on their odds. In other words, the Las Vegas Hilton might be different than all of the Caesars properties which might be different yet from the MGM properties. Differences are often negligible, but I have seen instances where people bet one side at one property and hedged elsewhere... Since I have three trips out to LAS planned next month, I will try to update as best as possible (what can I say...it is the season for all of the various poker series). I don't spend a lot of time in the sports book, but I have been known to place a wager or twelve...
If you were putting up enough money, I guarantee you that one of the books would create odds for it even if they didn't make the bet one that was on the board for the masses to see. However, I can also guess that 'enough' is far more than I would be willing to put up and would definitely be a number that FAR exceeds what my buy-ins will look like for the next month...
As an update, venetian has the over/under at 7.5 and the over is now at -110 (under is -120). I got some money down before the next update (weekly). Does not include a conference championship or bowl game. Have not been to MGM or Caesars properties to look at their numbers. Oh, and for those interested, UCLA is -3 in their opener against aggy...
