Interesting new website tracking bot/troll Russia activity

    I read about that this morning. It will be interesting to see the trends over time, especially to look back on the role of these 600 accounts when demonstrated misinformation is pushed.

    I did find it odd that the site pledges not to expose the 600 accounts they are tracking. That certainly opens them up for valid criticism.

    True. However, were you a bot manager, you'd see that and then attach that one to another cause (Justin Beiber, UT football, etc.) and then just set up another one.

    Yeah, it certainly could become a "whack-a-mole" situation as the accounts shifted but wouldn't that in an of itself have the effect of degrading the Russian propaganda influence?

    Good point. I bet smart folks with more information than any of us have sat around conference tables discussing this.
