Cool promo, but seriously, yeah I'm sure if USC wins they will all forget about the nightmare of the greatest Army of all time losing to Texas for the NC.
I'm gonna need to know if Hager is going to play before I can make a prediction. I'm sure hoping they kept him on the shelf due to mobile QB's and are now dusting off the human wrecking ball to go after the kid standing tall in the pocket.
So it isn't safe to, say, take the Metro from Union Station to the Expo Park/USC stop and walk the several blocks from the Metro stop through the park to the stadium (during daytime hours), and then back to the Metro stop after the game (in the dark)? It looks innocuous enough, but ... If not the Metro, what would be the safest way to get from Union Station to/from the Coliseum? Still haven't decided whether I'm going yet (live in NorCal), but I don't want to take my life into my hands if I do decide to go. My cats depend on me staying alive, because they haven't mastered the electric can opener yet.
Hey, another Columbia guy here. (Got my first degree there, and my second degree at Texas.) As for a prediction, I'm gonna go with USC 45, Texas 17. Hope I'm way, way wrong (in a good way, of course). I'd love to see Texas pull off the upset, but even playing USC close would give the team something to build on. Cue the "There are no moral victories" and "Do or do not; there is no try." posts.
Sorry, have not been to a game there since the late 70's so I'm not a good source to recommend a safe & efficient way to get to a game in the coliseum these days. Anyone else help this brother?
I have to agree with this one. The matchup is not good for the Horns - USC is signifcantly better. I'll be happy for the Horns to play well and make it a competitive game - that would be a positive outcome.
How y'all gettin LC out of there safely with all this spooky talk? I should be priory 1, for obvious reasons..
Herman is 6-0 against top ranked teams as Head Coach. That's the only thing I can grab out of the air for a win. TEXAS 35 USC 31
TE Garrett Gray is out Reese Leitao status unclear against USC Waiting on test results for Patrick Hudson
If our D was stout we would have a chance, so unless they've been holding back for this game, I fear the worst for this one.
I agree with posters above, be careful in that neighborhood especially at night after the game. Two bltizers on every defensive play and we may stop a couple of USC drives. Go for it on every offensive 4th down (ala Leach in his first year at Tech) and if we hit 4 out of 6 fourth down tries we may stay with them. My prediction is based on the above scenarios. Texas 52 USC 52 We win in overtime 73-72
It's going to be on Fox. I imagine the same set of announcers that called the UCLA-agroid game. That means Joel Klatt, and I like the guy. I dread watching any prime time ESPN/ABC games because of "Herbie's dribble." Horns need to take this game. Need to make USC fight for everything, every play and struggle to a win if that be in the cards.
I've reviewed the 2016 schedule and outcome. Other than beating Penn State in the Rose Bowl I don't see any major wins they had last season -- in part because I've a low opinion of the strength of the Pac12, including their caliber of QBs and coaches. I think the BigXII has better talent, coaches and quarterbacks. The USC coach is in only his second year as a head coach. The Pac12 South Division Title is the only thing listed under "Accomplishments and Honors" that he's been part of as a coach (Wiki page). Tom Herman has been part of a National Championship coaching alongside Urban Meyer and handling three pretty good quarterbacks for that season's run to the title. At Houston in two seasons won all six matchups against ranked opponents, to include wins over Florida State and Oklahoma. In the win over Louisville last year, sacked the eventual Heisman 11 times, and won the game. Do not be fooled by the Maryland game. He will take this team to Los Angeles prepared to play when they hit the field. The ace in the hole will be a visit to the squad this week by Vince Young and Michael Huff. Pretty sure there will be a pow wow with those two guys involved. And they will probably be on the sidelines not far from 'Alright Alright Alright.' Herman is not going there to do anything but ruin USC's night and make them learn the meaning of respect. After all their QB thought the best team did not win that game in Jan 2006.
Thanks for the correction. I knew that; must have been a senior moment. Klatt is very vocal anti-Texas, but I put that on the hit he took in the 2005 CCG.
C'mon man! Those cats are just going to have to play better! One holds the can while the other sits on top of the opener. Teamwork. Sprinkle a little fairy dust on them. The binder says to go for it. Horns 20 Trojans 32
I am concerned that our QB issues are going to be a huge factor in this game along with it being away and also our kicking game. Other than these, I think we should kick their ***. USC-42 UT-21
