I'm still waiting for the overwhelming evidence that it's true.

Me too. So far, we have seen a signed yearbook. That seems pretty innocuous. Anything else that we have missed?

I think that's it. Have any experts looked at it yet to prove it's real? I don't think so.

You must have missed this yesterday in which one of his accusers came forward with more evidence about her relationship with Roy Moore after he denied knowing any of his accusers.

In a situation of he said/she said I get the need to give the benefit of the doubt to the person being accused. Afterall, innocent until proven guilty, right? In this case, the situation is he said vs. she said, she said, she said, she said, she said, she said AND she said. To believe Roy Moore you have to believe that 6-7 women are lying, including at least 2 Donald Trump voters. You'd also have to believe that his former co-workers and mall employees are lying about his behavior of preying on high school girls while in his 30's. By his own admission, Roy Moore scoped out his future wife when she was 15.

Considering all these facts and testimonials, I'm flabbergasted that you can hear all that and come to the conclusion that Moore's behavior was "innocuous". I'd expect that from other more partisan members of this board but not the rational ones.

The only way an expert can look at the year book is if they would turn it over for evaluation. But they can't do that or it would blow her claim out of the water. There is a pattern that we are seeing with the libs.

    1) Right before an election they trot out women to make claims against their opponent.
    2) The voters don't buy it and elect the Republican
    3) The women disappear.
    4) Repeat next election.

Yes it's still before the election. Once the election is over she will quietly leave.

The timing of the first Post article puts a lot of this in doubt. After nearly 40 years this story comes out shortly after he beats Strange and can no longer be replaced on the ticket. That doesn't set off alarm bells for you? For nearly 40 years we never heard a peep from these women or the coworkers or the mall employees. What makes it even more suspicious is that his political enemies have been looking for dirt on him for decades and they never found any of this that was supposedly widely known? Also, why haven't we heard of any recent stories of his predatory actions? I've never known a sexual predator to stop on his own and I highly doubt being married would have cured him. With that being said he could be guilty. I don't know. However, he has to be given the benefit of the doubt.

I didn't say the charge was innocuous. But the evidence provided of an inappropriate relationship has been pretty underwhelming (not to mention the highly biased WaPo as the source). And as several others have already pointed out, the timing of the charges is highly suspicious.

Way I see it is when Moore was in his 30's he dated legal age, teenage girls. It sounds perverse now, but is on par with a 30's man dating legal 18-20 year olds nowadays. Not ideal, but not worthy of contempt or limiting career possibilities.

Further proof of this is he met his current wife when he was 38 and she was 24. Which means when he was 32 (around the age of these claims), she was 18.

The Dems and establishment took that factual pattern of dating 16-18 year olds that appears perverse 50 years later, but was legal back in 60's Alabama, and manipulated it into false claims of illegalities to steal an election.

Considering the sources, timing, etc...this determination is more likely than not.

He supposedly felt up a 14 year old. That's the only one that looks to be illegal.

That's my point, par for the smear tactics course. They take factual parts that could possible elude to bad behavior, then manipulate it into illegal claims.

Sound familiar? Dossier? There were factual parts like trips, etc then they made absurd claims of unverifiable allegations on top of the verifiable, legal acts.

The play is once legal acts are confirmed it gives credence to the fabrications.

Check this out. Today, Rep AZ Senator Jeff Flake tweeted a pic of a $100 donation check to Doug Jones, the Dem candidate in Alabama.

I think this one is #7 for Smiley
This combined with the seemingly likelihood Moore will prevail in Alabama, has led to some female senators finally calling for Franken’s resignation
It is, of course, extremely cynical, but at the least the Dems 6 Free Gropes Rule remains in effect

Last dash ploy to weaken Moore in AL voting (too late) and set precedent to pressure and shame Reps if they don't take bold action when Moore arrives.

Conyers and Franken getting pushed out doesn't threaten Dem hold on their seats. We all know Dems will sacrifice their own if (and only if) it feeds the beast.

The opportunity to slander and shame Reps over Moore is too juicy for them to pass up. Reps will likely call for an ethics investigation and Dems still get to bash them for not demanding he resign immediately like they did.

Then they'd get the two-for when the detailed accusations come back into the public spotlight during the investigation that's slandering a Rep.

One thing they may be miscalculating, I don't see Franken and his arrogance backing down and giving up power without a fight.

The Senate Dem plan in response to Moore seems more clear now
It's a little surprising no one calls them out for waiting to be mainsplained to by Chuckles

Whoops, that did not last long
The count is now up to 8
Will SNL make a joke out of all of this? After all their female comics stood up for Senator Gropey Hands?

There was an instant cognitive dissonance with Democrats on Twitter. People like Franken. Democrats need Franken. See, the accuser had been on Sean Hannity’s show. She must therefore be a right-winger. She could have been put up to this, they speculated. Roger Stone had tweeted that the “touchy” Franken was about to be exposed six hours before the story dropped. That’s fishy, they surmised. They all sounded paranoid, irrational, and conspiratorial. But that’s how we all sound these days.

I assumed Franken would step down later that day. Tweeden’s story rang true to me. I’d told myself I was the only one. I’d been groped by Franken in 2009.

It happened at a Media Matters party during the first Obama inauguration. It was a great time to be a Democrat. Not only had we just elected the first African American president of the United States, but Franken’s race had triggered a recount, leaving lefties giddy that we would soon have a supermajority in the Senate.

So Chuckles and the Dems' plan is to clear the decks and make Roy Moore 'hood ornament' of the Republican party. If so, this means Franken is toast. No way he survives if this is their plan. He probably wont anyway at this rate (on average, one new woman every 3 days). But with the Schumer battle plan, it is certain.

But there is another problem for his strategy. What about all those settlements paid for with taxpayer funds? For alleged sexual harassment and similar misconduct. As time goes by, I would imagine more and more names and details will surface. Via leak or other whatever means. What if a high percentage of them are Dems and they are still in office? Will Schumer force them all to do the walk of shame on their way to the gallows? He must do this if his Roy Moore Hood Ornament Plan is to work. The losses caused by this plan could be worse than the gain.

Franken was in full defensive combat posture for a few weeks and suddenly the roof crumbles down on him in unison and he instantly wilts.

Sometimes things are exactly as they appear. No doubt this was coordinated on all levels for Dems to unify in the demands and Franken to bow out.

Once again the instant gratification mindset of Dems will likely come back to bite them hard in the *ss. They're setting a precedent that may take down Moore in the near term, but have undoubtedly more to lose in the long run on this issue.

They wouldn't take him. He's far too stupid to be a Republican.

If Roy Moore is not running right now, Franken is hosting SNL next weekend, taking a victory lap on Kimmel, Maher & PBS and would be in the Senate another 4 or 5 terms.
