I think males are allowed, but it's a more controlled area - bigger police presence, less crowded, etc. I think the dense crowding is a big problem. These downtown squares like Köln's aren't that big, and during big celebrations, tens of thousands of people cram into them. If 20 Muslim dudes decided to surround and attack a woman, it would take far too long for the police to work their way through the crowd to help her. Basically it would be up to the German men immediately around her to help. They're not going to.

The view from my patio tonight. Apparently, shooting off these fireworks in the middle of the street is no big deal, but if I spray a little Round-up on my weeds or kill some honeybees, I'm a dangerous menace. Go figure.

Heard on the street: 90% of the uptick in violent crime in Germany has been caused by immigrants.

Martin Schulz QUITS as SPD leader after he refuses Merkel's coalition job

  7. Mr. Deez

He didn't really refuse the job (which was Foreign Minister). His fellow SPD members revolted against him for initially accepting the position after promising not to serve in Merkel's government.

The bottom line is that he was a grossly overrated politician who was largely a product of media hype. The European media adored him because he was a radical advocate for the EU and cheered him on once he decided to run for chancellor. However, he was crappy at being the head of the SPD, and they got their asses handed to them in the election. After the rout, Schulz announced he won't form a coalition with Merkel. Then he flip-flopped to try to hustle the Foreign Minister job from Gabriel. In other words, he showed everybody in his party that he was an unprincipled and self-promoting hack.

    Good riddance.

If this continues, the intelligence in Sweden will be at goldfish level”, the woman wrote on a Facebook page called “Stop Abuse of Power”........

This is the kind of story people need to bring up when the Left scoffs when people invoke the Soviet Union, Cuba, and North Korea as reasons not to embrace socialism. They like to hail Western Europe as the ideal model - socialistic but supposedly respectful of political freedom. It's BS. (For starters, those countries aren't really socialistic. They're capitalistic with heavy regulations and wealth redistribution. In other words, they're more fascist than socialist.)

Western Europe's political freedom is very much limited by the content of the speech. You have freedom of speech if the government doesn't have a problem with your speech. If you say something they think is "offensive," you can get charged with a crime. Well, that's not respecting political freedom. That's authoritarianism. Hell, if you were a Soviet citizen who preached about how great communism was, you had all the freedom of speech in the world.

I would argue Fascism, along with Nazism and Marxism, are all forms of Socialism.

Is the real reason for the open-border-immigration in the EU the same as it is here with Democrats (to keep control of the political machine)?

I view them on a spectrum but not the spectrum that political scientists use. I put economic fascism and communism on the same side of the spectrum with fascism the less extreme option, because it maintains private property and ownership.

Different European groups want open borders for different reasons. The Green/Left groups want open borders because of the easily exploitable political and demographic changes that come with it. The corporate business groups want them for the cheap labor and larger tax base. Sound familiar?

Looks like a practitioner of the religion of peace (Yeah, I know, don't speculate on motive. When a Christian, Jew, or Hindu does something like this in Germany , then I'll stop speculating.) drove a truck into the outdoor tables of a restaurant that I ate dinner at last year. Link.

This is the TV in my hotel right now. This incident just happened a short time ago, and of course we're all being told that the worst thing we can do is assume anything. However, it's already being reported that the attacker is a 48-year old "German." Somehow I doubt that this "German" has a name like Wilhelm, Horst, or Gerhardt.

This is an interesting quote and one that is a bit refreshing.

"Did she really need to say it was necessary to welcome one million migrants? We must remember the past we have in Germany. I hate Ms. Merkel for having forgotten.”

He invoked Germany's Nazi past in opposition to open borders, which is the opposite of how the issue is usually spun. Usually, open borders idiots invoke Nazism and the racial hostility associated with it to guilt people into supporting or at least tolerating open borders. The logical inference is that if you oppose open borders, you're closer to being a Nazi than if you support them. Most of that time, that phony narrative is allowed to stand without challenge.

It's good to see someone reject it. As I've indicated before, mollycoddling unrepentant Jew-haters and putting European Jews at more risk of violence than they've been since 1939 isn't how you atone for Nazism.

More problems for Merkel. Link. It has always been assumed that the Bavarian CSU would always be there CDU's sister party and therefore join a Merkel government. No more.

European Union announced an improved policy regarding illegal immigration. They agreed to set up "Disembarking Platforms" outside the EU itself to give them a chance to at least attempt to distinguish between those they feel deserve protection and those who should be returned.

    It's a start

Speaking of Germany, apparently if you have sex at a bus stop, it's a good idea to wear a rubber. Not sure if that's another tip they're trying to get through to "migrants," but it's a good idea, I suppose.
