You may not be limited, but you might want to worry about wearing out the
P and the L and the O and the N and the S and the K and the Y
    on your keyboard.

I was just saying yesterday, during the women's softball game, that I hope CDC will interject himself into the women's sports because Connie Clark getting the boot is way overdue and Plonsky won't do it.

On the radio this morning, it was discussed that Del Conte is spending serious time and effort in improving the football game day experience. Way beyond moving students and the band. Apparently he has created several committees to work through pre game, game time and post game experiences while also holding many fan focus groups to solicit real feedback.

Anyone have more inside info on this or know if this is true?

Somewhere, Joe Jamail is grinning and asking, "Oh....so you miss him now"?

wow ... I guess I'm out of touch and becoming an ol curmudgeon yelling at the new comers (not necessarily young) to "get off my lawn"

I can't imagine the facilities are sub standard ... I CAN imagine the failure to field a squad which can win championships ... we've seen it for 7 years now ... in 3 coaches. I know I know ... gotta recruit with the facilities. To me that's pretty poor. I expect excellence ... not extravagance. Weary of extravagant facilities and budget for uber-low cost carrier performance.

If 2018 doesn't get it done (large improvement if not conference champion) new facilities will be the least of Del Conte's football facility problems.

He's listening to the media too much on this, then. My personal polling amongst UT graduates runs about 75% against.

Longhorn Dave, class of 1983, wants to play Aggie every year on Thanksgiving but would rather play USC, LSU, Ohio State, OU, Arkansas and many others and stop playing non move the dial teams.

Not problem playing aggy every year in every sport - when they leave the $EC, $EC, $EC and come back to the Big XII. Otherwise not a chance in football (really in no sport but Smart and Pierce evidently did not get the memo).

Aggie should play a rotation of Baylor, Texh, TCU, and Texas on a 4 year basis.

Screw aggy. But for our 2nd/3rd tier OOC schedule we should be doing a home and home rotation with the Service Academies. September road trips to West Point, Colorado Springs and Annapolis are indescribable. As a Gold Star Family Member, I am Service Academy inclined. Great trips, Eastern Media Exposure, and I have a massive hard on for Army's offense.

If a game at West Point is not on your bucket list, then you may not be a football fan. Additionally, as the Longhorn Nation travels, they would essentially all be home game.

    Just sayin.........

:arrow-up: This. To bad such a game at Army couldn't be mid to late October. Trees turning; wonderful hosts; and a memorable trip.

Conference usually will not break-up conference play for a non-conference game. The $EC gets away with it since they play one less conference game with a break in conference play.

    No aggy.

    They chose it, not us.

    We have scoreboard infinity.

".... according to salary data previously obtained by the Statesman, the UT athletic department had 448 full-time staff members with an aggregate base salary total of approximately $47.3 million. The Longhorns typically have more than 500 athletes, creating almost a 1:1 ratio, something unheard of in major college athletics...."

So now it is 1:2 so that is better. Makes for good headlines, but still better than the military where it takes 8-10 non-combantants to support each combantant.

As for playing Army in late October, early November, the game I attended there was last Saturday of September, the high was about 62 degrees, and the trees through the Hudson Valley were all looking like Bradford Pears look the day before they drop every leaf in 15 minutes. Early in the Stoops years he brought his team to the Air Force in September to play in front of an almost solid crimson crowd in 60 degree weather. Have never been to a game in Annapolis, but have visited Camden Yard (great weather) and to inaugurations (almost froze to death).

But I think the Service Academy Home/Home rotation would be great for fans. And telling recruits they are going to New York City, DC, and Denver/Colorado Springs can't be a bad thing.

    Just my thoughts......:cowrose:

Games at all of them are great experiences. Not like what goes on with the corps on the brazos at all.

Hopefully, Plonsky's new role will be sock and jock washer. Something suited to her talents.

Damn! Did you see their titles? How they gonna get all that on a business card?

Actually sounds like a great couple of hires by our AD.
