Is Tenn Tech favored? Just read BN said TT favored. Good team but we are the home dog and pretty good too.
but TT beat one of the $EC favorites. Key will be Texas pitching as Texas should score a bunch of runs against a staff with an over 5 ERA.
As are all statistics -- they can be deceiving. Their pitching started out cold at the beginning of the year and their latter performance has worked the average lower. Current ERA as a team is 4.9 . TT has two decent starters with a record of 13-2 and 7-0. Their individual ERA is 3.86 and 4.26. They also have a good closer with 14 saves and ERA=2.1 . Our top two starters have an ERA of 4.4 and 4.1 , which is worse than theirs. The real key will be to crank up the pitch count to try to get to their bull pen, which is the real weakness. If the Horns do not have a lead going into the 9th inning, our batters will face a decent closer. We need their starters to last no more than 5 innings. If you do not have time to watch the whole game, the win will depend on what happens in innings 6 thru 8.
Other than taking 2 of 3 from Ole Miss at home, their schedule and statistics don't show much in my opinion. Texas played in the Big 12 and played good competition out of conference, TT did not. I watched the game last night and they played a good game after slaughtering Ole Miss earlier in the day. http://www.ttusports.com/sports/bsb/2017-18/schedule I hope the home crowd in Austin gives our guys a little extra.
Agreed but I just don't know what to make of TT. Other than Ole Miss their record is full of teams virtually unknown directional schools. They are clearly good but don't understand why they would be favored,
Honestly the Big 12 wasnt that good this year and we lost almost all of our tough out of conference games. I think we have a pretty good team, but I wouldnt dismiss a 52-9 record because they had an easier schedule. Watching that game last night they are a pretty good team.
TTU was 2-0 against West Virginia who we went 1-2 against and beat Vanderbilt besides winning the Oxford regional.
Willful and deliberate ignorance is hard thing to combat. Texas' schedule was ridiculously tough with road series/games in Baton Rouge, Fayetteville, College Station, Lubbock and Norman and home series/games against Stanford, Okie State, Houston, Louisiana Lafayette, TCU and Baylor. Tell your aggy friend to maybe pay attention to college baseball sometime before June before spouting off foolishness like that.
See like an amateur Del Monty missed an opportunity here to jack prices and shift a synergistic capital paradigm to aggregate customer metrics Hookem! sp
I agree with your assessment but I am surprised at the lack of signature wins. ANY team winning that many games is impressive but I suspect Texas would have vastly different statistics if we played TT s schedule.
. Cannot be. All real Aggies are too busy basking in the glory of other SEC teams winning to be "butt hurt". Guy is obviously either a fraud or an Aggie wannabe that didn't get the memo on sec Sec SEC!
Will be a tough series.Tcu was down for some reason or else the Big 12 would have been more solid. aggy still thinks although they won their 1 and only 1939 title 20 years before we did that everything before coed doesn't count. Then remove their FedEx cheating years, they have nothing. At least they have their all Male cheerleaders to pull for the sec.
Some of those milkmen cheerleaders couldn't spell "S E C", see also little Rickie Perry. I am a Republican, know him, and can say that without it being "West Mall".
Didn't see anything you guys haven't already posted. https://www.hookem.com/2018/06/04/t...eld-for-a-ticket-to-the-college-world-series/
The second sentence clearly indicates that the first sentence is meaningless. Regardless, whether he thinks Texas is no good is irrelevant. If they win, they win. I care about wins and losses more than a random idiot who doesn't know anything about anything. But I wouldn't recommend saying that, just smile and nod and say "I guess we'll see. We were just lucky to get out of a regional that was stacked with so many quality teams plus an SEC squad."

The Super Regional round is underway as North Carolina and Stetson have the early Friday first pitch.
Washington beats Fullerton 8-5 to take game one of that super regional. Oregon State has jumped on Minnesota early and leads 4-0 in fourth inning in Corvallis. Good day thus far for Pac 12.
Tennessee Tech's schedule if you were wondering who they have played this year. Link: www.ttusports.com/sports/bsb/2017-18/schedule
If I counted correctly they scored 10 or more runs in 29 games, 20+ twice and 30 once. Several other games they scored 9. They also give up lots of runs on occasion.
They gave played 4 solid teams - WVa (won both), Vandy (won), Tennessee (won) and Ole' Miss (2-1). Impressive even if you discount the $EC hype. Texas should not get discouraged if they lose a game by a big number.
