On 247sports, different writers will predict where recruits end up. They are called crystal balls (CB).

FWIW, you can give Mookie's tweet at bottom a "like" right from here, just click the heart once, then confirm. Its a non-intrusive way to show a little support.

I have posted this before, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this would be the first Houston Austin player recruited to Texas since Ken Spain in the early 60s.

Spain, by the way, was a HS All American in both football and basketball.

Some of the gurus are saying 2020 QB Malik Hornsby is leaning aggy even though he called Austin "home" on Friday. The reason? The presence of 2019 QB Roschon Johnson. I have seen Hornsby referred to several times as a "Vince Young-like" talent at QB.

Quote from someone TFB claims is a source at Mookie Cooper's high school in St. Louis

    “It’s a no-brainer right now where he’s going. Texas.
That’s all he’s talking about is Texas”.

    Henderson says --

“Quarterback is what I want to play, to be honest, and that’s what I’m focusing on. But I have to be realistic with things and if a college ends up telling me that we think you’d be best at another position, I’m willing.”

“But also if playing another position is going to get me to the league, I’m definitely going to play it.”

Henderson is being recruited by Tim Beck as a quarterback, however, there is some chatter we might consider him a TE even

Another Cooper quote, this one from one of his HS coaches --

“He’s different. He’s been different all his life. He’s that dude. He’s *the* guy you go see even where there’s a lot of guys to see”

2020 RB Ty Jordan of West Mesquite
    TFB says --

"Jordan is an interesting prospect, he’s a smaller guy at 5’8 180 pounds but he’s a playmaker. He’s listed as a RB but he’s an all-purpose guy who can make an impact at RB, in the slot, and as a kickoff/punt returner. Just look at his sophomore stats. 777 rushing yards and 9 TD’s on 99 carries (7.8 YPC), 6 receptions for 158 yards and 2 TD’s (26.3 YPR), and 331 return yards and 2 TD’s. He does it all....."

Oh I am salivating like a werewolf in heat with the idea of getting Demas, Cooper and Z Evans to go with Card. That is a whirlwind package. Red, fork over some money. Just kidding of course. And this is far from improbability. An absolute must would be the beef to go up front. I remember back in the day when recruiting was December, January and February just before signing day. Now it's year round and beyond. I guess I like that but it's more hand wringing. .

We need to clean up in the trenches for 2020 recruiting or else we may be the best flag football team in the nation as someone else alluded to. I think some of the best like us but we need to reel them in. Looking forward to a strong successful season this year which would enable recruiting. These days successful recruiting feels like swimming against a swift current not like yesteryear but i do like the effort by Herman and his staff. I can't quite put my finger on it why we only have one recruit thus far. This is Texas. But opposing teams laugh quietly about that. I think Herman is more thorough and methodical. Well that might work if recruiting is more like a long journey but it seems to me recruiting is more like a 440 yard sprint. But I am optimistic.

We aren't in that bad a shape, This year we need to sign about 4 to 6 I'd be happy if one or two were Juco.

I'd like to get two or three highly rated guys and a couple of guys that came on their senior year. Really it's those guys that do well on the next level. Kerrsettler is a prime example of this.

The biggest thing is getting our numbers up with quality guys. I trust Hand will get the job done.

    2020s re-ranked

The Houston area well represented once again --
RB Zach Evans (Galena Park North Shore) at #6 overall (low?)
Dual threat QB Malik Hornsby (Fort Bend Marshall) at #12
WR Demond Demas (Houston North Forest) at #43
