If Mueller wins the screams from the Trump Supporters (not the right) will be "rigged", "deep state", and "corrupt". The smokescreen whose sole purpose is to protect Trump will continue.

I'd like to know what, in this case, is the exact definition of "win" and "lose", as it pertains to Mueller's investigation.

I expect Manafort to lose bigly unless there are 12 brave Americans willing to stand up to government abuse.

It can be both. Manafort looks to be dirty and needs jail time but your Trump Derangement Syndrome will not allow you to see that the FBI/DOJ show serious signs of corruption. There is a very good chance that this investigation was started due to politics.

Sounds like creative hedging. That's understandable.

Proof that Mueller is an abuser of government power. Did you see the other article about how Comey rose to power on the back of flaky obstruction of justice charges? Note neither of them rose to power based on good decision making.

That's why Trump should not do an interview with Mueller. A perjury trap will happen.

You're probably right, in light of the recent Manafort conviction on 8 counts (80 years) and Cohen guilty plea of campaign finance violation at the direction of POTUS (46 mos - 63 mos).
    Witch hunt.

I thought we were going after Russian collusion? Btw, you do know Cohen will say anything to lessen the charges against him, right? I mean he could be telling the truth but who knows? You do know the purpose of this is getting Cohen to turn on Trump regardless of the truth, right?

Edit- Btw, you better hope that the House goes blue or the truth of this investigation will come out.

We are going after Russian collusion and these specific criminal conviction/plea have nothing to do with Russian collusion. It becomes even less likely POTUS will voluntarily provide any truthful testimony to SC Mueller in the Russian collusion case given the criminal evidence SC has against POTUS in campaign crime(s). But SC cannot accept a Cohen plea agreement unless they have evidence to corroborate that claim, therefore, I believe Cohen, in this instance, is telling the truth.

If this is the truth then the President will pay a fine and move on.

In name only. The reality is that they have been after Trump from the outset. Despite all their talk pre-election, they never accepted the results of the election. Or, stated another way, they seek to subvert democracy.

As to Mueller himself, he definitely appears to have one eye on the midterms with the other on impeachment. But I am not sure he is thinking his way through this correctly. I am not convinced Americans care about this kind of stuff when deciding who to vote for.

Example A is Bill Clinton who had to drag along a bag of "close friends" who included --
    - Web Hubbell
    - Jim McDougal
    - Susan McDougal
    - Stephen Smith
    - Marc Rich
into the 1996 elections. Despite this, he won 379 electoral votes to Dole’s 159.

Lastly, even if a porno star was paid by Trump to keep her lips sealed, it is neither illegal, nor evidence of a campaign finance violation.

Cohen is such a bad lawyer, not only does he record his clients, he pleads to non-crimes.

I thought there is a recording wherein Trump and Cohen discuss which Trump account should be used to pay the settlement. I don’t think there is any doubt.

Don't you owe the board a mea culpa on Manafort? You were pretty convinced he'd be exonerated.

If an anticipated exoneration was expected to show Mueller incompetent, what's a guilty finding worth?

Quite a few Americans that make over $500K a year illegally do not pay all of their taxes. Personally, rather than just getting political sacrificial lambs like Manafort to please the left proletariat, I would like to see the FBI and IRS go after ALL the rich mofos not paying all their taxes. I have no problem with taking Manafort down, but it is time to truly "drain the swamp" and start going after errrrrrryyyyyyybody. Will never happen (way too many people with connections on both sides of the aisle), but would be nice.

Sorry, not correct. I said Mueller is an abuser of government power and I hoped there would be 1 brave American on the jury who would stand up to this abuse. I also said bringing a criminal on stand to testify against Manafort was symptomatic of a weak case. I also posted an article saying the case was a slam dunk for Mueller and Manafort’s only avenue was just to roll the dice. Further, I said it would be hilarious if Mueller lost this case. It turns out I was mostly right (only 8 guilty charges out of 18). Did you know 5 of them was for filing a false income tax form for 5 years, 1 was for a another false filing about foreign assets, and the other 2 were for false bank applications. By the way, the banks were not harmed. Second, regarding government abuse, how many people can say with certainty that they haven’t filed a false tax form in the last 5 years, and if caught, go to jail?

SH, your problem is that you don’t appear to have a clue what other people are saying. I don’t believe I am the first on this board to say this. Either you don’t care or you are incapable of understanding someone with a different point of view. Of course I am reminded of the science that shows liberals only score well on 3 of 6 value system components where as conservatives score well on all 6 (some more than others).

Probably all of us have filed a false tax return. How many of us have done so knowingly and with intent to defraud? Probably far fewer.

It's not abuse to bust Paul Manafort. He was a thug and deserves to go to the slammer. I'm a little confused about how this fits into the scope of Mueller's authority, but that is a procedural technicality. It has nothing to do with whether or not Manafort is guilty

Yeah, I am okay with Manafort going down, but I do not know what Manafort proves about Trump or collusion. I already knew that plenty of wealthy people in this country do not pay their taxes.

I am also unsure how Trump’s attorney pleading guilty changes anything. I already knew Trump was sleazy, solicited prostitutes, etc, and I did not vote for Trump. However, most of America stopped caring about such behavior with Bill Clinton, so that guilty plea, as far as I can tell, has changed nothing.

Wrong, Joe Fan. They seek to employ mob rule, aka democracy. They seek to destroy our representative republic.

The act of recording may have been a crime, depending on which state he did that.
