What if it was not the Russians?

Notta thing. And this is Mueller's appointment announcement. I'm not sure how the Manafort prosecution fits into it.

Wouldn't (b, ii) apply? Haven't the courts already settled this matter?

I'm not sure if a court has ruled on that and again, it's not relevant to the case. However, it's a stretch. Furthermore, there's no reason why DoJ couldn't have done this without a conflict.

Without knowing the details, Manafort's lawyers did file court motions claiming Mueller's charges of Manafort were outside the SC order. That line seems to be a pretty large catch-all.

I'll take your word for it that the court ruled that way. But again, it seems like a stretch. It is a catch-all, but even catch-alls have their limits.

This morning, Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis states that Cohen will tie Trump to Russian collusion. Most likely this move is designed to give the Democrats Congress. The assertion that Cohen can prove Trump colluded with Russia doesn’t have to be backed up. If the assertion can be kept alive for about 11 more weeks until the election, the phony allegation will have achieved the desired result. On the other hand, if Cohen is scheduled to present evidence for the claim in time to be refuted before the midterms, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Cohen suddenly died of a heart attack.

Do you have addresses? I'd like to send all of them thank you notes for exposing the seamy underside of Democrat party politics that we all knew existed, but hadn't yet seen the evidence.

Yes, but not their home addresses. Fortunately for you, they all work for the same Russian agency at

    It was the Russians.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Wednesday called out Russian President Vladimir Putin by name for interfering in the 2016 US election, calling it a "direct attack" on US democracy.

"At Vladimir Putin's direction, Moscow launched a brazen, multi-faceted influence campaign to undermine public faith in our democratic process and to distort our presidential election," Nielsen said at George Washington University in Washington. "Although no actual ballots were altered by this campaign, make no mistake: This was a direct attack on our democracy." Nielsen continued that the administration "will not tolerate" such interference nor "let it happen again."

Papadopoulos gets 14 days. He probably can go on weekends for 2 nights a pop. Mueller sure is using tax payer money wisely.

I'm sure his cooperation with Mueller had nothing to do with that sentence. ;)

If Mueller didn’t interview him at all, there would be no sentence - manufactured crime. Perjury trap. Why would you trust Mueller who has been documented to implicate innocent people before.

The Obama justice department was corrupt. He used it and the IRS to attack opponents.

Nellie Ohr, who worked as a contractor for the firm behind the anti-Trump dossier and whose Justice Department husband became a backchannel for passing along that information, has refused multiple requests to appear voluntarily before House committees, Fox News has learned.

Former FBI general counsel James Baker also has refused similar requests.
