We really haven’t had a big win yet in the TH era. A W Saturday would be very nice, but not direction changing...unless we dominate. It’s hard for me to believe that 3 points against Stanford is representative of the Trojans. Further, it is likely that USC matches or exceeds us from a talent standpoint.

While I’d love to see a win, I doubt it’s in the cards:

Unfortunately, that is about what score my head is telling me, today... hope it changes late in the week before my prediction.

This isn't a great USC team. Problem is that this isn't a great Texas team either. Wouldn't be surprised if it went either way

its definitely hard to predict. You don't know which either team is going to show up. i will say that USC doesn't really scare me. Both teams have good athletes/players with questionable coaching(at least on our part, for sure). So, based on the fact that USC doesn't scare me i say 27-21 horns.

    Texas 17, USC 16. It's a springboard to the Cheez-It Bowl. :)

In a dream, I came up with Texas 41 - USC 38. Then I woke up and realized it wasn't a dream, but it also wasn't 05 January 2006 again.

For the 2018 game, Texas 24, USC 28.

I just have not seen anything to suggest that Texas can score more than 21 to 24 points on any Power 5 opponent (even a PAC 12 opponent), and nothing to convince me that the Texas defense can stop the jet sweep (student body left/student body right in USC language).

It would be interesting to compare the number of 4 stars bust between the two. USC hasn't performed any where near as well as their Rivals rankings would suggest. And lord knows we haven't come close. Meanwhile in Fort Worth Paterson has a decent chance Saturday against OSU and he'll using 30-40th ranked classes of 3 stars. Sigh ... anybody else want a drink(s).

Madcow, it’s true. Patterson may consistently have done more with less than any FBS coach in the past 10 years. I have never been a proponent of going after him. Perhaps we should have...

I refuse to make any prediction of Texas losing. Therefore I may not pick this week. We'll see how I feel later this week.

He's married to Tarrant County and TCU. He has a really great gig and would NEVER consider working with, much less for, a Powers or Fenves. It ain't all about money.

Never say never, but Patterson never leaving TCU is as close to never as possible. Saban to Texas is a bigger probability (and that isn't happening).
