How about Archbishop Cupich of Chicago's defense of Pope Francis:

"The pope has a bigger agenda. He’s got to get on with other things, of talking about the environment and protecting migrants and carrying on the work of the church," and "We’re not going to go down a rabbit hole on this."

Cardinal Defends Pope: He ‘Has a Bigger Agenda … the Environment, Protecting Migrants’

Turns out Pope Francis has much the same agenda as the American political Left; no borders, pro LGBTQ, radical environmentalism, etc.

An interesting article by a quiting White House correspondent. One of the reasons why Trump's attacks on the press resonate is that what this reporter says is pretty obvious to anybody who watches a press conference. They don't hide the agenda very well. For example, it's pretty obvious that Jim Acosta isn't a conscientious reporter trying to ask tough but fair questions to powerful people but is instead a partisan tool trying to promote himself. That's why the public doesn't freak out when Trump calls them the enemy of the people. They may not view the media as the enemy, but they don't view them at their friend.

That is hilarious. I guess that's the most Alex Jones can do now. I'm actually surprised that Rubio talked to him as long as he did.

What are the chances that Rubio didn't actually know who Alex Jones was?

None, but nothing offends a guy like Jones more than being unknown.

And I listened to it a second time and heard Jones say, "get back to your bath house." lol. I missed that the first time.

One thing that gives me a little hope for the midterms...

All month I've been seeing stories on the NY governor's race, and people have really tried to make it seem that Sex and the City woman had a real chance to beat Cuomo.

Well.... quietly Cuomo just blasted her out of the water in the primary with two-thirds of the votes.

    https://nypost.com/2018/09/13/andrew-cuomo-cruises-to-victory-in-bitter-democratic-primary/

Cuomo is a garbage candidate and a garbage governor. But people aren't stupid enough to elect an avowed socialist with no experience, no actual plan, and no platform other than "We're not liberal ENOUGH!!!"

The fact that this turned out to be pretty much a non-story (I had to go looking for it) tells me that maybe the socialism trend is being oversold. It makes me question some of the other polling data we're getting from other parts of the country. My hope is that when it actually comes time to cast the ballot, people are going to be a lot more circumspect.

All too familiar pattern. The NYT runs a piece spun specifically to attack a conservative. When they are called on it, they run a correction, which they know won't matter because the original has already been spread around by every progressive in America.

The fact that this keeps happening despite an alleged editorial staff that's supposed to be checking this stuff tells me that maybe this isn't so much an error in judgment as it is a premeditated strategy.

Did you also notice how the "correction" was not really a full correction?
If it were, it would have named the actual US Ambassador who did spend the ~$50k on drapes for her $58K/a month apartment

Anyone want to guess who that was?

It was Obamist Samantha Power, aka the Marie Antoinette of the Syrian genocide

I have read that when Susan Rice was Obama's UN Ambr (she preceded Power), the rent was $135,000/mo.
Of course, no media said anything about that at the time.
Haley's rent is less than half that.
Our media is so horrendous they are making me rethink my long held love of the 1st Amendment.

You can't get righteously mad that someone calls you the "enemy of the people" when you flagrantly lie and distort. Link.

Of course, the real shock isn't that the Washington Post lied about something but that the Huffington Post called BS on them. Maybe Arianna Huffington is thinking about becoming a Republican again.

The gloves are coming off at Yahoo!

Headline: "The Trump tax hikes are on the way! Trump is raising prices on consumers before the midterms."

And of course, there's the actual story...

    "
But Trump is now taking action that is essentially a tax hike on American consumers, and will offset a portion of the tax cuts he has been crowing about for nine months. And in typical renegade fashion, Trump is dismissing political orthodoxy by daring to hit voters with new taxes just weeks before a crucial election.

Trump now plans to impose 10% tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese imports, beginning Sept. 24. The tariff will rise to 25% by the end of the year. That’s in addition to a 25% tariff on $50 billion worth of Chinese imports Trump imposed during the summer. So by Election Day in November, Trump will have placed new tariffs on $250 billion worth of stuff Americans buy every day."

You can argue one way or another about whether you like his tariff policy, and you could certainly say (as I suspect) that any tariffs being levied are part of a negotiation attempt to bring them down on both sides. But to say in a headline that Trump is raising taxes and raising prices on consumer goods is blatantly exaggerating (at best), and dishonest at worst.
