Well, that game certainly did not hurt our recruiting

Not a single new commitment announcef.

Agreed that we played well enough to make credible our claim that the program is headed in a positive direction.

Believe so. Just glad our signature win was at home against a ranked opponent rather than a signature home loss against a ranked opponent.

But aggy beat Louisiana girls school for the blind with jumbo coaching and play in the sec. How do we compete with that?

Good news is Aggie was one of the only teams not on tv so no recruits saw the game. Bad news is recruits might believe that aggie beat another team from Louisiana.

Last week was completely emblematic of our two programs and fan bases.

Aggy was thrilled with a close, hard fought home loss.

Longhorns were pissed off the win wasn't pretty enough.

Game was a positive all way round ... strong play and great atmosphere ... we certainly didn't lose any recruits and had to make strides with any of them who attended.

Top 5 opponent vs. Tulsa. Why should Texas fans be thrilled about escaping with a 7 point win against them?

Also emblematic of their program is the fact they should be thrilled with that loss as they have done jack squat historically. Why the hell would someone be "thrilled" with a loss? Proves once again their lunatic mentality.

More of a loser mentality than lunatic, at least in this instance.

Yeah loser may be more fitting in this case for those lunatics.

I am and have always been anti moral victories. But I will say this, sometimes two great teams play each other and one of them wins and the other loses. And it's a great battle and a great experience to see and be a part of no matter which team you rooting for. I'm okay with people walking away heartbroken from an epic contest feeling like they just saw two great teams play.

yeah but the whole world is going to have the opportunity to see a hide tanning of the highest order next Saturday. Saban will be sending Jimbo a message.

It was aired somewhere, but probably not a true national game. I saw it while flipping through...guess it could have been their dollar-sign in-house network but still something carrying a game against Louisiana Junior High

4 star RB Derrian Brown commits to Texas.
"Brown, a 5-foot-10, 180 pound back from Buford, Georgia chose the Longhorns today. Texas beat out 29 other schools for Brown’s commitment including Penn State, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, and Ohio State among many others."

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Tide is on a roll... aggy & Jumbo will be the next victim.

Honestly I expect a blowout. Something like 52-9.

Wonder if Jumbo and Saban would agree to let the clock run in the 4th quarter to limit the pit of misery aggy will be in?

I think Aggie hangs tight for a while then collapses.

Books are also expecting a blowout...early line is 26 points. That CANNOT bode well for aggy recruiting to be almost a four touchdown dog to the best in the nation...

Highly doubt it will have any effect on recruiting. Jimbo will spin it that he needs his dogs to beat them.
What will have a much much bigger effect on recruiting will be LSU, Miss St, Auburn, and USCe. Those games are likley losses and they will be the ones to open recruits eyes on how far the Aggys have to go to be competitive. Right now I'm pinning the Ags with a 7-5 record, maybe 6-6. They could go as high as 8-4, or as low as 5-7.
If they go 5-7 they will lose a lot of their class, of course the same can be said of Texas.

Agree and would also say that Texas and Texas AM and Nebraska and USC and Arkansas and other big state schools are in the same boat. if the newish coach doesn't produce in 2-4 years they will be cut. The thing about Jimbo is that if he doesn't produce in four years and cannot get in an upward move, he will be a very expensive wounded duck until he is replaced.

Positive for the Aggies is that they did not have to suffer through an ******* like Stevie to get to their pit of misery.

Then again, is there another ******* like Patterson out there?

You pays your money and take your chances. ags are going to be paying for 3rd place in the SEC West for a loooooooooooong time.

I hate to say it, but Jimbo was a good hire for them. Recruiting is already better. Pretty clearn Sumlin was clueless so they aren't going to do any better than Jimbo. They still aren't going to win the SEC West, but that doesn't make this a good hire. He's already paying for himself by a very large margin. We should have gone after a winning proven coach instead of Strong. That was a 5-6 year mistake and one that shouldn't have been made. Should have gone after Patterson instead if we weren't going to go after a big dog. At least he was a proven winner at a smaller school. What had Strong proven? That he could win with an NFL caliber QB. Wanted to see a bigger body of work than that. Same applies to Herman. A school like Texas should be able to get a coach that's proven themselves over more than 2-3 years. Because a few great players can mask mediocre coaching in that short a time frame.

I feel like Texas, OU, and A&M will soon dominate recruiting in Texas and elsewhere. OU's coach may need to pay attention to defense a little to continue to have double digit wins......Similar to Herman, if Aggie gives Jimbo 4 full (or maybe 3), they might turn the tide (no pun oh heck maybe yes pun) in the West....
