Linardi doesn't even have us in the tournament. way too early of course but still http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology
So many better matchup possibilities than Georgia Piggy? Gator? Kentucky? Barnes (UT vs. ut)? Who picks these things?
Remember the last Thanksgiving weekend game against Duke where we blew a 17 pt lead and a 98 or 99% chance of winning according to ESPN?
Encouraging - I don't care so much about the hair, but he's clearly worked on getting his weight under control. Looks like he's in great shape headed into the fall.
Does anyone know why the 18-19 women's roster has been up for a while, yet the men's still is not? How long after school starts does it take to get it updated?
CBS College Hoops writer predicts out starting 5 as -- Matt Coleman Courtney Ramey Kerwin Roach Dylan Osetkowski Jericho Sims.
Nice lineup, sure, but where is the outside shooting going to come from? I am most excited about the development of Jase Febres. He had the sweetest outside shot last year. Long should be a great addition also along with a couple of the Freshmen. And of course, who is not excited about the return of Andrew Jones!
I was actually talking about the kind of outside shooting that will actually keep another team honest and not pack it inside. The closest person the Horns had to that last year was Jones. He shot 46 percent from 3 in the short time they had him and Roach was the next best thing at 36 percent. O and Coleman were both under 30 percent and Febres right at 30 percent. I still liked Febs sweet stroke the best, well other than Jones.
We need an improved Febres to keep defenses honest. Our outside shooting has been an abomination going back to about 2009. Good teams have to make more shots from range, including like 15-footers.
If we can get consistent jumpers from 10 to 15 feet to fall then we'll win a lot of games. Threes are great, for sure, but the team should be better in the medium range shooting than last year. I agree, if we have a 40% plus 3 point shooter we'll be elite eight good this year.
