Just glad O'Rourke lost. Hope Republicans turn more conservative and better communicate how freedom and prosperity help everyone.

    Trump at the presser today:

    "I retired Jeff Flake.
I did the country a great service."

Many Dems want the federal government to play the role of HR.

Hoping now that Trump still has the Senate and no election looming, he will boot Sessions to the curb and get someone who won't do that.

Young Kim (R-CA) is the first Korean-American woman elected to the Congress.

No doubt CNN has a gushing profile in the works

    Right?

Joe, you just described Beto perfectly. I don't recall ever hearing him state his position on an issue - he seemed to try to run on charisma. All style, no substance.

Trump took 68-to-90 questions from 35 reporters today in his mid-term presser
    Obama? Not as many (lol)

"President Trump has become the most accessible president in recent history .... Trump took 68 questions from 35 reporters. And if the failed follow-up questions are included, the number soars closer to 90.

How does that compare to the press conference former President Barack Obama took after he was clobbered in the first midterm election he faced? In that 2010 performance, Obama took 22 questions from 10 reporters who offered soft questions, not the types of challenges Trump faced...."

Mr. Accessible: Trump takes 68 questions from 35 reporters, three times as much as Obama

To be fair, CNN had her mentioned in an article about "historic firsts," although it was just in one sentence. MSNBC ran a short segment about her on Morning Joe. LA Times, which is fairly moderate for a newspaper, had a great article about her.

Fox News, on the other hand, didn't say anything about her, because she distances herself from Trump.

Hey guys … Trump was the first to do it … What We Know: Family Separation And 'Zero Tolerance' At The Border Hell yea it looks bad...

It's amazing how many Republicans take up and repeat the party line. On Blacks not joining the Republicans … have you seen how Blacks are portrayed in Republican Partisan news (Fox has them killing each other, playing the knockout game, and meanacing at the Polls in most portrayals.) Donald Trump, yes by God he really did, made a great big deal about Obama's supposed Kenyan birth … trying to delegitimize a Presidential elections that Blacks took a lot of pride in. And Fox News was right there with him...

If you really want to know why Blacks have the political views they do, and why educated White suburbanites are deserting the Republican Party in droves … well you are sure as hell aren't going to find a plausible answer in message boards bereft of liberal input or Fox News. You can speculate that people voting Democratic are behaving in a hateful, idiotic manner if you want, but it's intellectually lazy. If you want to know the real reasons, you're going to have to move out of your comfort zone, engage with people who don't think Donald Trump is exceptionally insightful, honest, nor appealing to what's best in us..

By the way I'm sure you Republicans are proud of Ken Paxton's reelection as Texas Attorney General … a man so ethically compromised I wouldn't trust him to be an elementary school PTA treasurer. And we knew all of this before we elected him the first time. With all his extraordinary legal powers … poor guy still can't shake the white collar crime indictments in time for his second election to statewide office. Well, at least Paxton's dishonest antics, in the hands of John Oliver, have the power to make us laugh.

I don’t understand this “personality” first nonsense.

    I’m not electing a friend.

The criteria should be 1) not a criminal 2) platform as close to constitutional (Fed) as possible. 3) ability to communicate, analyze, educate 4) experience in similar jobs

I don’t care about skin color or gender ... nor (compatible) religious beliefs (no muslims)

It's the old "all politics are local" psychology. If you see yourself as disenfranchised or just being insulted (identifying with people from Mexico for instance instead of Americans) then you need a friend. Beto becomes your friend. Suddenly you are worthy of something because Beto the rock star says you are. And he will make sure the world takes care of you because you are a victim of evil. So you have been cleansed of all blame and cloaked in justification for your lot in life and your thoughts. You have become Beto.

I'll bite. Why? What other than Trump's ******* personality has changed in terms of economic, foreign and/or religious policies on the Right? Is it that they believe he truly colluded with the Russians? Is it the failure of Congress to take care of the Dreamers? Are they suddenly in favor of gay rights? Is it that they believed Professor Ford? All the above?

But what has the Left offered? Obamacare? What else? Do these white suburbanites want to pay more taxes? Do they blame the Republicans for the national debt? Do these white suburbanites want our public schools to accept more children from Mexico?

You know how bad our national debt is? $20 Trillion, right? I just looked up the net worth of the richest 400 Americans. The average net worth is $7.2 Billion. Times that times 400 and you get $2.9 Trillion. That leave the national debt at $17 Trillion. Even if you seize the entire net worth of the richest 400 people in America. Taxing the rich is part of the whole personality cult. There are no answers from the Left. It's going to take an economic boom such as we saw in the 90's. In the meantime, it's easier to blame people and demand that THEY pay their fair share.

I'm not the person to answer you bystander. I always leaned left of you guys and from the start have seen Trump as shallow, dishonest, acquisitive, and appealing to our fears and prejudices and most of my political interactions are with people who buy and repeat whatever ******** the get from Trump, Hannity and Fox & Friends.

I think most people here have watched MSNBC and CNN enough to know they are every bit as biased as Fox. Btw you do know Fox has Black hosts and regular commentators, right? All of whom are conservative and right leaning... I've watched more Fox over the past few months and I haven't seen anything like what you've described...

I hope you're actually a moderate and not a fan of that airhead Cortez who has no clue how anything works and sells her constituents on naive pie in sky romanticisms that sound amazeballs but aren't gonna work how she imagines them.

What about Maxine Waters who told her followers to stalk and harass Republicans anywhere they found them?

And that dolt hitman *Acosta who ignores Trump saying he wants immigrants but will not tolerate a caravan of several thousand who stormed the Mexican border and overwhelmed Mexican authorities, violently forcing their way into Mexico without declaring their wish for asylum, and even refused asylum when Mexico offered it... all that dolt can say is Trump is bad for seeking to deny women and children...

It's all politically motivated, and your party is just as guilty of sleazy tactics as anything Republicans have done.

My sister and sister in-laws didn’t like Trump during the primaries when he had hardly started. Some women get over that and vote for him and GOP due to policies - some don’t. It’s a matter of priorities - some care more about fairness and inclusion than economic or industrial policy. I think that is stupid cause you have to have the latter before the former, but that’s me. I also make more money than 95% of these women except for the 5% that are highly paid professionals, so it makes sense I am more motivated for an economic outcome. Remember women prohibited alcohol, widely regarded as the stupidest political act of all time. Anyway, a rambling retort.
