Former KU coach David Beaty coming to Austin to help Herman’s staff prep for OU.

Maybe a job offer coming soon? I hear he is a solid recruiter.

KU scored 40 on OU so he may have some added insight into attacking their D. We may need to score a lot!

We should also hire KK for same role and then slide him into OC next year.

KK's type of offense is polar opposite to what Herman wants to do. Personally I think that offense just leaves your D exposed (too many plays). I'm fine with the O as is. What we need are impact players on the LOS on both sides and we'll be fine.

I think it was before Saturday's Battle of the Inbreds, that they gave the stat showing their average yards per play given up has increased by a full yard under Ruffin.

There's a couple reports out there on other sites that Beaty will be joining the Texas staff. IT thinks he will have the "Co-OC" title, but that this does not necessarily mean he will be calling plays. Either way, should definitely help improve out DFW recruiting. Beaty is known to be a solid recruiter.

Also, at least one report saying Orlando is being considered for the Temple job (the jilted ex of Manny Diaz)

Orlando should hold out for a better program. Stay another year, win the NC and get a really good school.

Besides Beaty we are making a run at Tyron Carrier from UH. Right now, Holgorsen is attempting to move fast to get him re-signed. But apparently we are making a strong push. I dont know much about him, his resume is short but he has a good rep as a recruiter. And Herman wants him and, according to the UH people, we made him a big offer.

Adding he and Beaty would seem to signal some changes coming on the staff because otherwise the numbers dont work. Which would be good, IMO.

OrangeBloods says Beaty recently moved to Austin and will join the staff as soon as his Kansas contract issues are resolved.

Here is something about Andre Coleman --

" ..... Coleman spent six years working under former head coach Bill Snyder in Manhattan, mostly as a wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator before calling plays last season. So his expertise is in the passing game, but it’s his knowledge of the unique Kansas State quarterback run game and the passing options built into that are the most intriguing.

Therefore, in addition to the run-pass options that former North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora could help Texas install, Coleman could also help head coach Tom Herman and offensive coordinator Tim Beck add some Kansas State-esque elements to the offense.

The first thing to understand is that Kansas State often utilized wider-than-normal splits by the offensive linemen to create natural running lanes for the quarterback and to ensure that the fullback could get through the line of scrimmage when necessary....."

Cheating the splits? What a novel concept. I wander i Mike Leach ever thought about that? Or Mangino? or Fuente? or Kendall? or Sonny Dykes? or Kingsbury? or Riley? or Chip Kelly? Not sure it will ever catch on.

Frank Erwin was the last one, but Frank was a lawyer not an educrat.

You can make a good case for Deloss as AD because he was the consummate politician and built the athletic department into the envy of everyone including OU, while making The University tons of money, in spite of a ton of outside interference.

Of the 400 college ADs in the country, the only ones worth a damn are in Austin and Lubbock. The rest are either incompetent or token figureheads.

Read that. Seems like Beaty may have a strong suit for damages beyond his salary owed.

And, whoa, KU looks bad in this....as they were harassing Beaty publicly as though he had done something wrong, all the while knowing they were pulling the real shenanigans.
Sounds like a real Alger Hiss move...

Kansas is turning into a real cesspool. I guess trying to keep up with Baylor, Temple and Free Shoe U.
