Agree^^^. Also, if Kyler were the QB for Alabama, i think they would be even more explosive, even better offensively.
By this measure Vince should have won in 2005 and Colt in 2008 & 2009, but I don’t believe that the intent was for the award to be an MVP type selection. That’s why I hate the fact that some great athletes and performances are often not even on the radar screen because the player’s team wasn’t very good.
the heisman is such a joke. it’s not what it’s supposed to be. instead, it goes to a QB or RB on one of the top 5 or 6 teams every year. also, half the heisman voters submit their votes too early. then the winner is typically a disappointment in the NFL.
I voted for Tua because I believe if his team had a defense like OUSux, he would have put up even bigger numbers than he did. As it was, he played very little in the second half of games. Plus FWIW, from what I’ve seen and heard, I personally LIKE Tua as a person better. Finally, I think there may be some voters who will look at the similar numbers Murray and Mayfield put up and conclude, “maybe it’s just the SYSTEM?” When was the last time an OU qb WASN’T in the Heisman conversation? Perhaps some voters will look at it as OU has developed a “formula” for a Heisman qb, which produces eye-popping numbers no matter who’s in the position.
I am hopeful that there are enough voters who have sense enough to realize, as they look at the numbers, that Tua would have had an extra 30% or so had he actually played to the end of each game. Instead, he was on the bench for much of the second half of each game. This is something that smart coaches do so that they don't jeopardize the health of their studs unnecessarily...it also ensures that they have a back-up who is ready on a moment's notice.
This^^. Very wise on Saben's part. More coaches (um yep) need to be on board with this to protect the starting QB--who is, as we all know, the most important player on your offense.
showed highlights of Heisman games, players and coaches---of course, showed two highlights of VY and winning td vs those Russian Scoundrels known as SC---asked my brothers, both bailer grads, if they would rather win the Heisman (RGriffin) or NC--both replied NC--oh well, Jim Plunkett, kinda puts your award down the scale a bit...btw, I would agree! Thanks, Vince!! (and yes, we know who now deserves that now vacated trophy!)) Your legacy is secure
I think without Kyler OU loses at least three more games. He is an amazing college quarterback but I think on the next level he should stick to baseball.
Oh yeah. I actually think they just might pound him. Just the extra motivation they needed. I may have to go from thinking that the game might be close to, not so much.
And that will be after a chunk of the month with the SJW's pounding on him for tweets made as a high school student...
In the words of Dan Jenkins (book, Life It's Ownself), "but I have a feeling there's a big Sooooprise waiting" ... for the little kyler and the Sooners. Over and under on Heisman pose taunts Bama defenders use on little kyler... 3.5
