It's not Kyler's fault he won the Heisman, he didn't have a vote, but there are a lot of Alabama players that want to prove that he didn't deserve this award. They are going to be very up for this game, but now they are going to be super motivated. I'm thinking blOwU vs USC 2004 is the beat down they will now get.

He is a good player, he proved a lot to me, but damn Bama is on a whole different level. And now they are mad.

Yeah poor 5 star kyler, not as good as Shane or colt, but somehow a Heisman Trophy winner....oh damn forgot I didn’t play the game so not eligible to post. Austin Bill, could you please get all the horns fans posters handles and list them on a thread and name it “we played football and you didn’t so we really know what’s what and the rest of you pansies don’t so stay off our boards”? Then the rest of us can ooh and aah while you describe your greatest play you ever made?

Zucker: you catch hell because you keep posting negative stuff, not because you didn't play the game. Yes Klyler is 5 star and his play was exceptional even among 5 star quarterbacks. Charlie recruited Kyler hard and he would have been welcome here.

Jesus Zucker, you think you are the only guy here who doesn't prefer 5 stars when we can get em?

You are assuming they will be able to catch him. He is pretty adept at avoiding contact.

I can’t imagine that Alabama will be any more motivated than Texas was and he came out of both of those games just fine.

Bama has to catch Kyler before they can hurt him. He'll be the fastest, most elusive quarterback they have ever seen live and OU has the best scheme, OL and skill players on offense in the whole NCAA.

If OU even had jsut an average/mediocre defense then I'd favor them to beat Bama.

However Bama's D will get at least a couple of stops and OU's D is so bad that Bama will score on every single drive.

    Bama 45, OU 28

Not winning the Heisman, when you and your teammates thought that you should, can be one heck of a motivator. Just ask Vince Young.

I have a feeling that the Bama defense, usually operating at about DEFCON 3, might just reach DEFCON 1 for this game.

I hope and will enjoy see Bama get some good shots it on the Midget. But this game has potential to turn into a track meet. Still think Bama gets the win if they can shut down the OU passing game.

If this were not a semi-final game you'd probably be right. I can't imagine that the D would be MORE motivated than they should be for a semi-final game. I don't think Bama is going to keep OU under 30. I worry more about OU keeping Bama under 50. I'm more worried about the mental stability of the safeties.

I know you haven't played the game because you are simple minded when it comes to high school talent. You don't try to form an opinion about high school talent, you just take the opinion of some guy who would probably be asking you if you wanted to Super size that meal, if he wasn't a guru.

You see 5'star and think he must be better than 4'star. You know how I knew Manziel was going to be a good college QB? I watched him in person dismantle San Antonio Madison and Converse Judson. It wasn't rocket science, it was watching the game.

The sad part is you post your opinion like it is right because you are backed by a flawed star rating system.

If you played the game, you would understand that measurable are only one part of the equation. it's not the whole story. A bigger part is what is between a players ears. Remember, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Oh they will be, they are not fighting for a win, they are playing for history. Part of that history was to add the Heisman to their resume. Think about how Texas was against USC when Vince didn't win. Every one of them were extra motivated to prove they made a wrong choice.

    Bingo

Seriously, people feel the need to dig up what a 14 year old kid said?

It's a bogus witch hunt that needs to stop. For all we know, Kyler is queer now. I'm glad there wasn't social media when i was 14, I would probably be kicked out of the country and forced to live in Antarctica.

I think Tua should have won simply because he is the best college qb I have seen in a few years. If he is healthy, Bama will not punt the entire game unless the lead is out of reach. I'm not convinced OU will score out of the 20's. If TX is capable of limiting their scoring, Bama certainly is. It could get ugly. Bama most certainly covers the spread.

Does anyone think if Kyler started for Bama they wouldn't be just as dominant? I'm not sure Tua would be as good as he has been on a lesser team. If you are comparing both players straight up, Kyler is better. I dont care about the teams or the conferences.

SEC defenses arent NFL caliber. I keep hearing how Tua did it against SEC defenses and Kyler had B12 defenses. Does no one remember OU scoring at will against Georgia last year?

KM is a great QB and very fast. He really doesn't deserve to be messed with for BS in HS. But unfortunately that is the world we live in.

But, I digress. The real problem is that the Heisman voters don't watch or even understand football. (Vince Young was unbelievable all year as was Colt) I think they read each other's press and statistics, maybe, but let's face it, Tua played virtually no fourth quarters, he is that good. As for bowl game, I hope it is a good one, but I think Sabin v Lincoln is the only equation that matters. Sabin will have these guys up and I believe it will be really bad. KM is elusive but if bama hits him early and often, and gets up 4 scores, I believe KM will leave the game to preserve his baseball contract.

This is a fair point but we live in a very different world today than the one in which most of us grew up. Whether we like it or not, much of what you say or do is recorded for perpetuity.

Ky-Ky did not grow up in a vacuum. He was groomed by a father who knew, or should have known. These days, even at 14, kids need to be taught to own it. Is that fair? Maybe not.

About a year ago while checking Instagram (the only social media platform I use, and I do so rarely) I somehow found myself in the middle of a conversation between my grandson and a friend. He’s a wonderful, charismatic kid that wouldn’t intentionally offend anyone, not on purpose. He and his buddy were ragging each other, and I heard his friend use the N word. Neither had any idea of the significance. When I saw him, I explained exactly what I have written above. That not only is the use of that word ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE, but that anything he does — even at twelve — could come back to hurt him at thirty, forty, fifty or sixty. I think he got the message and passed it along to his friend.

Personally I can’t give Kyler a pass. Like I said, he didn’t grow up in a vacuum.

You are correct. Is there anyway that I can permanently erase my posts on Hornfans? Mostly the ones that predict the score of any Longhorn football game? They will certainly always haunt me. Any help appreciated.
And my posts regarding realignment of anything including conferences and my back.

I only generally agree. No one deserves a free pass on unacceptable Behavior. But, not getting a pass looks like many different things. If he tweeted those things this past week, he might be suspended for the playoffs. The type of response to poor Behavior should take in to effect how long ago it was, the age of the person, the climate at the time it was done. I just don't want to make this conversation to polar, as if either he should be kicked off the team or totally exonerated.

I know this isn't West Mall but in the end, we either need to decide as a nation that the past is indeed the past or destroy everyone no matter who they are. That sounds a little over the top but we are seeing so much hypocrisy as the link below displays.

Many good perspectives on this subject. None of us like the current climate of political correctness. Whether or not Murray should be held accountable in the court of public opinion for something he tweeted multiple times at age 14 appears to be a moot point.

It is my opinion, based upon my personal anecdotal evidence from conversations with several friends of different ethnic groups that homophobia is more rampant than people care to admit. My black friend whose Dad is a Jamaican said the dirty secret over there is the homophobia. I believe it is also rampant in the Hispanic community based upon my Cuban roots and the fact that I'm a South Texas boy. If the Left continues on their path of attacking blacks (Hart and now Kyler) then things could get interesting.

The church is huge in the black community as it is in the Hispanic community. They are not the atheist/secular arm of Liberalism. That is why I believe racism is our biggest problem. It is pushing people who demographically are Republicans in so many ways to align with the far Left.

    That's my opinion anyway.

Depending on how bad Brown is hurt....OU could lose by epic proportions in the playoff format.

But did KM ever sing "Baby, It's Cold Outside" in the school talent show? You'd think squeezing them during the Aggie war hymn would be enough to disqualify him from any award.
