They just don't make music like this anymore. My I Tune play list ends at about 2003 and starts in 1975. Rush has two musicians that rank as among the best at their instrument all time. Getty Lee and Neal Peart.

Thank God they don't make music like Rush anymore. ;)
    Great guitar and drummer.
But the vocals and lyrics were horrible.
Can you tell I'm not a Rush fan? :D

No argument on Rock n Roll.
Beagles can stink it up, they're hard to potty train.
I was a triple legacy to Kappa Alpha Order so Rush was not that hard on me.
As far as being light as a feather, to each his own!:coolnana::catfight:

I respect Rush. I know they are amazing musicians. But their music does nothing for me.
    Too technical.

Like Clapton or Stevie Ray... Any time I hear Clapton cover Bob Marley or Stevie Ray cover Hendrix I think they just took soulful artists' work and did an anti-septic, yet technically amazing and perfect executed, rendition.

(Yes I said it, Stevie Ray Vaughn does nothing for me) <ducks for cover>

Same. As a guitarist I admire his skill but I can’t dig his music. Still like Rush though!

I love his music - but I would be the first to admit that he's not a trailblazer or someone who's brought originality to his work. He's a great cover guy who writes so-so lyrics and uses standard song formulas to wrap around extraordinarily played guitar riffs.

Wasn’t that a single on his second album?

The best part of SRV was his rythym section (aptly named Double Trouble). Add his chops and you have a great band.

Tommy Shannon, half of Double Trouble started off with Johnny Winter.

I haven't followed music since the early 80's but Stevie Ray is fantastic. Best 3 guitarist's ever in my limited opinion are Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, and Winter. SRV isn't far behind. And while he never had national notoriety Chet Atkins was brilliant.

Johnny & Edgar Winter went from sacking groceries at the store at 4th & Calder (???) to playing gigs at the old night club next door to the Spindletop Motel next to the South Park drive-in movie on South 287 in Beaumont. They got gigs there when they were 15-16 years old.

For those that don't know, the Spindletop had a full blown casino. When the feds raided it, they wound up with 560+ indictments, ZERO CONVICTIONS!

All defendants were represented by a country lawyer from Jasper named Joe Tonahill (sp), who would later represent Jack Ruby. Mr Tonahill was a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law.

Inside Texas says that, in addition to Rising, Casey Thompson is also in the NCAA transfer portal. Both he and Rising have been at Sugar Bowl practices.
We are trying to keep both.
Rising's dad said he may stay, but the transfer portal is a good way to test the waters and check out their transfer options

Once you make it clear there's a strong chance you're considering leaving it's near impossible to come back. I doubt either is is on the team next year.

I may need to read up on portal physics but I thought that once you enter you will definitely exit at another point in space-time.
