I wonder who were the other finalists for that teaching position? Perhaps Jerry Sandusky, Art Briles and Jackie Sherrill?
Special guest lecturers will be Howard Schnellenberger - "How is piss off four generation legacies with buildings named after them" Ken Hatfield - "Piousity Helps Overcome Criticism but Doesn't Help You Win"
Franchione belongs in a group with Mackovic under the heading of "Arrogant ********", but neither of them was the total worthless piece of **** that the others are.
I was going to ask if you have ever visited Loserville, but them realized that had you drunk any water there, you wouldn't be here to type that statement.
Timeline: 7/24 - Urban lies publicly about the Zach Smith "incident" 8/1 - Placed on administrative leave 8/3 - Admits to lying on July 24 8/22 - Suspended 3 games 12/4 - Steps down as head coach 12/20 - Named teacher of leadership/character class at OSU 12/22 - Named assistant AD
Quite an impressive timeline isn't it. I think it shows that we only thought aggy had the market cornered when it comes to delusional thinking.
Every school has a list of those allowed to pick up kids. If he's not on it he shouldn't have tried. Security on this is taken incredibly serious as well it should be.
It has to be a helpless feeling when you can't pick up your kids from school. It's a good indicator that his train has come off the tracks. Lashing out at TH over his firing/marital problems was another bad move that didn't go the way he wanted it to.
Urban Meyer was put in a no win situation. Media hype trying to make a good person appear bad to sell clicks and build a career. Hard decisions have to be made. Zach Smith is the crazy dude. Urban Meyer taught Herman how to coach and build a team.
Too many red flags on Smith. His relative got Urban to hire at Florida. Same person has major stroke at Ohio State, yet when Myth went to Columbus, he didn't have Smith on staff. Enter relative & Smith is later hired. Why didn't Myth and relative get him counseling and treatment for potential mental health problems? We once had an assistant on staff that suffered from "issues" (not abuse issues). He was provided professional help, compliments of the athletic department. No media, and NO MORE ISSUES!
Even if it doesn’t work, you have a paper trail of the circumstances that shows future issues did not occur due to the administration ignoring the issue.
He is probably at fault. With that said, I had an employee that had a protection order of no contact with his ex wife, but not his kids. His mother picked them up at a neutral location from his ex mother in law at 6:30pm on Fridays. Same on the return on Sunday. On a Friday morning he asked to get off at noon to pick his kid up at school because his ex was going out of town and she had “cleared” him to pick up the child early at school instead of the scheduled pick up. I told him it was a bad idea. It was. It’s was a set up. Not saying that is what happened with Smith, but I have seen this play. There is a whole lot of crazy on both sides in the Smith situation.
Dang that’s bad! Using kids to set up your ex. Somehow, I’ve managed to stay married 20 years. Not always easy, but the alternative....... ! Much respect to all the single Moms and Dads our there fighting to make it work. I’m not referring to Zach Smith, but good people just end up single later in life. That’s who I’m talking about. I’ve been more lucky than good. That Smith divorce could be a horror movie, would sell tickets!
I got it- so this will open up the AD role for Urban to return to Cincy as the AD and he isn't going to coach again. Can you imagine the success of Urban now that he can openly pay players with the new CA law??
