per Paul Finebaum... “Bama was just unmotivated to play in tonight’s game... they felt let down to be excluded from the NFL Playoffs. Everyone knows Bama is the better team!”
Maybe if Alabama had scheduled a tough team in the place of The Citadel, Louisiana-Lafayette or Arkansas State they would be better prepared to get their teeth kicked in.
Dumb move by the punt returner, but it won't matter at thus point. Only the Atlanta Falcons or Texas A&M could blow a 44-16 lead.
8 of the top 18 threads related to either conference loyalty or to how close they played Clemson (before Lawrence was the full-time starter - he only threw 9 passes that game).
This game doesn’t completely surprise me. Looking at the trajectory of the two teams during the season, Clemson was getting better and better, and Bama was exposed by Georgia. I believe that Clemson is this good, but Alabama may have been a bit overrated.
Lmao the 3rd string RB runs for a first down on 4th and 5. They'd hit 50 here if they had to keep running plays.
welp ... I'll hafta have my share of crow, too @Vol Horn 4 Life wow. what a schellacking! Demonstrating once again ... there ain't a horse than cain't be rode and ain't a cowboy who cain't be throwed! Hat Tip, Clemson. You torpedoed my bowl pick ... but an impressive win!
You have to ask what was agy's best moral victory this year... Losing to Clemson? Losing to Bama? Not playing Texas on Thanksgiving?
Do the rest of the SEC teams take the SEC SEC SEC coattail so hard as aggy? I know they all have Stockholm Syndrome but it’s hard to imagine UGA, UF or LSU fans taking this loss so badly as aggy does.
I’m not surprised bama lost but waking up and seeing 44-16 was a bit odd but the way they played against OU with all the extra stupid stuff it was clear you could get under the skin of bama and take them out of the game. Hell if Oklahoma was losing as was able to do it how easy wasn’t if for Clemson and they had the lead.
Statalyzer, that same thought crossed my mind, also. I bet Venables is delighted in the way his career has gone since he was ridden out of Norman on a rail - and the record of Mike Stoops as ou DC speaks for itself.
The "real" SEC is four (and sometimes 5) teams - Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU and sometimes Auburn. The remaining 10 are basically an average AAC league.
Exactly. Other than fans of SEC teams, the sports media with a current financial interest in promoting the SEC, and very casual college football fans, who can argue with this?
The aggys I was around seemed to get more of a moral vicktree out of playing well but losing to the Tigers than losing to Bama.
