Good luck and all that.... His offenses never did scare me unless they had a qb that could extend drives with their legs / feet. He doesn't have that in LA that I know of.

Should be some fun times when he faces the Pirate.

Won't be too hard to find a QB that can sling it

Agree with you X. USC might finally get some NFL talent at QB!
On the serious note their WR St. Brown and his family doing backflips.
That kid will be top a 15 draft pick.
Also, his dentist would like to thank BJ Foster for the additional work.

It sounds like he has not officially resigned yet but is now allowed to talk to Arizona about HC position. Jets next in line.

Maybe Swann should just fire Helton now and replace him with Kliff?

I would quit if I was Kliff damn shame Swann has been blocking his chances at the nfl

update - He supposedly has met now with both NYJ and AC (although Matt Rhule is supposed to be the fav for the Jets). FWIW, many out there saying its good for us to get Rhule out of our conference because they think he is going to be very good. As with all things, we will see.

Sounds like he got an offer from the Arizona Cardinals
The USC people think he has or will accept
That should be interesting to watch

If Coach Bro winds up HC at Arizona Cardinals, he should get Matt Leinart to return to Phoenix as QB coach.

They'd sell every ticket to girls and women from 15 to 50 just to gawk at them on the sidelines.

Kingsbury will always be a USC legend because he's the guy that will have ultimately gotten Swan fired and probably Helton too.

His overall record at TTU was 35–40
    19–35 inside the Big 12
Usually not the kind of numbers that get the NFL's attention

That's pretty hash, but then I'm the guy that told a couple of friends that Swann was such a light weight, that he couldn't get hired by CyFair or Katy ISD.

Allow me, and not in a shy way, to take a shot. With the exception of a few franchises, the NFL is run by idiot owners who think they know everything when I’m fact they know virtually nothing.

Exhibit A: Jerrah. With all that money, exposure, stadium, etc., nothing for 20 + years. Maybe this year. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Exhibit B: How often do 1st round picks bomb, especially QBs?

My guess is that AZ is watching KC this year, the scoring proliferation, and thinks that someone like KK is the answer, even though he couldn’t win in the Big 12.

Having lots of money doesn’t necessarily make you smart, particularly in areas disassocIated from your area of expertise.

As alluded to in another thread, I don’t know who’s making the hiring decisions in South Central, but their choices have been suspect for years. They have a top five franchise and they hire coaches like Sarkisian and Helton? Wow. (I had admired Haden until he made that bonehead decision.)

At least at Texas, after the Powers/Patterson debacle, Fenves had the wisdom to hire CDC.

That would by Lynn Swann. Another bit of evidence that just because you are a super star at the highest level doesn't make you a good business leader.

More proof the NFL is a crap product. A loser at Tech being hired to coach an NFL team. Eh, maybe he'll do the opposite of Saban and have success in the NFL.

Kliff Kingsbury, 39, will be in the same division as Sean McVay, 32. Should be fun.

Kliff Kingsbury, the first head coach to leave Texas Tech with a losing record since 1985, who went 7-6 and 5-7 with Pat Mahomes as his quarterback and who went 1-3 against Charlie Strong is now the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals for some reason.

He ended his Tech career with three consecutive 7 loss seasons, a 5 game losing streak and being easily defeated by a 6 loss Baylor squad.

An analyst said “he did a good job at a tough place to win.” If he did not win there and the last four head coaches (David McWilliams, Spike Dykes, Mike Leach and Tommy Tuberville... and I am not even sure Tuberville was trying very hard) all won there, Kliff did not do a very good job!

Honestly, this failure upwards is more impressive than anything Shawn Watson ever did!

Kliff Kingsbury versus the Big XII:
    Kansas 6-0
    Iowa State 3-3
TCU 3-3 (not sure how he managed this)
    Baylor 2-4
    Texas 2-4
    Kansas State 1-5
    Oklahoma State 1-5
    West Virginia 1-5
    Oklahoma 0-6
    Overall: 19-35

Actually Jerrah is Exhibits A - ZZZZZ.

I read somewhere yesterday that Coach Bro asked for permission to interview with the NFL teams and USC said no. He did and is so that is why he is no longer listed on their coaching staff.
