Cowboys let Goff run 10 yards for a 1st down!

    They don’t deserve to win

I was a rabid Cowboys fan growing up — and I hated the Rams — but ever since Jerrah took over, I grew so disgusted that this game just didn’t matter to me.

Jerruh “One-N-Done” Jones headed home again. Love it! Cowboys won’t make a SB until Jones is dead and gone.

Rams just shoved the ball down Richard and Marinelli's D. All first half, no adjustments were made. None :smile1:

The offense, even less imagination shown from the coaching staff. Poor cows fans, you have been sentenced to yet another year of this nonsense.

Living in the area, almost all media types here were sure the cows would win, for certain they'd cover. Monday morning radio should be fun...
I don't hate the cows, don't love them (I was a childhood fanatic, family had season to in the cotton bowl era). They're great entertainment for the fence sitters like me tho

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Bad 4th and 1 call doomed them IMO. Garrett will get lots of scrutiny and second guessing re: this game. Monday morning radio in Dallas will be brutal.

Just checking...you do know their name is the Dallas Cowboys and not the Dallas Cows? You see, Cowboys are people that manage a herd of cows. Cows are, well, cows. I just assumed you'd know that since you admit to being a childhood fanatic. Just thought I'd ask...

Jason Garrett has proven time and again he cannot coach a team up in the playoffs.............I'm sick of him.

I lived in Dallas from 1982 - 1994. Jimmy Johnson built those teams. He drafted the players and made the trades. It was his work. Not Jerry's. I can never understand why people try to use those Super Bowls as evidence that Jerry knows what he is doing. I believe they have four playoff wins in the past twenty three years. That is Jerry's handy-work. Anything prior to that was Jimmy as GM.

I’m no fan of Jones but to be fair he gets to live in those days as long as people get to say “I was a fan until he fired Landry”. Everyone needs to move on.

I got off the Cowboy's bandwagon when he hired that fuckstick Barry Switzer.

Having been there at the time, I was not upset about the Landry firing. I recall quite clearly that the radio talk shows were ripping Landry constantly. I listened to Norm Hitzges every morning and believe me, it was "The game has passed the old man by. Everybody knows how to scheme around the flex defense." Paul Hackett was hired as OC and supposedly to be the coach in waiting. My recollection was also that Tex Schramm didn't want to be the one to fire Landry and was hoping he would retire. But Landry hung on wanting to turn things around. His last three years were 7-9, 7-8 (player strike year) and 3-13.

Enter Jerry Jones. Suddenly, Tom went from the old man who didn't know when to quit to "OUR TOM!" overnight. It was a good thing. The Landry loyalists were a bit like Mack Brown loyalists. But how long does someone get to live on past glory? When Mack left his legacy then became the story and not the hanging on stuff. Same with Landry.

From a lot of old folks I've heard, it wasn't that he fired Landry, it was how he fired Landry.

Yeah I didn't know you could be called down for being in the grasp of a teammate.

Does not seem to mean what you think it means.

I think Landry left town and Jerry had to fly down to Austin to do it. Landry knew what was coming. Supposedly Bum Bright offered to do it. No sympathetic soul he. But Jerry said he'd do it. Jones was excited, cocky and ready to get on with owning the team and get Johnson going. The team was bleeding cash. There was no time to waste. He spent $140 million.

Jones and Landry probably couldn't be more different. I'm not sure what Jones was supposed to do. It was clearly very awkward.

Hey, I can't stand Jerry Jones. I have no reason to take up for him. His egomania is very frustrating to me as a fan.

Grew up a huge cowboys fan but haven't followed the NFL for years. Jones is the guy who steps in **** and calls it clover.

Yeah that's right. It showed his assness, which hasn't changed imo.

But I did move on. One guy doesn't change a lifelong team. I'm a Dallas guy, born and raised. Cowboys are my team regardless of Jerry Jones.

If randy Galloway can call them the cows (since the 80s) it works for me

We all got spoiled by the innovation, class, and dignity with which Mr Murchison, Tex Schram, and Gil Brandt did things. They revolutionized the NFL, and made fans nationwide.

Jerry Jones lacked many of those qualities, yet while his predecessors changed the game on the field, Jones revolutionized the game on the business side. As a Cowboy fan since 1963, I dislike many of his decisions and the way he did things. So much so, that I have often said of Jones that he bought what amounted to Dallas CC and turned it into a public course and the clubhouse into a beer joint and titty bar with plans to move it over to Industrial Blvd.

Jones chose his old teammate Jimmy Johnson because of Johnson's intensity and knowledge of the game. When their argument over operational matters got so heated that Johnson left, Jones could NOT find anyone to take the job. Lots of Switzer haters on this board, but none of those have ever met him, much less had a conversation with him. Barry is loyal, and agreed to help his friend - it was never about money or ego; Barry did it to help Jones save face and have a year to convince someone to take the Cowboys job. (It also allowed Barry to establish residency in Texas, decreasing his taxes among other things.) When Jones couldn't find anyone to take the job, Barry made him pay for that second year. That second year paid for the fraternity house that Becky and Barry purchased and renovated in Norman.

It seems that Jones ran out of friends that were successful coaches to manage his team on the field. The Cowboys haven't been the same since Jones ran out of members of the Frank Broyles coaching tree that would work for him.

You know, Jerry supposedly said 500 coaches could have taken that team to the Super Bowl. The Dallas media said Switzer was coach #501. But to his credit he brought another one home.

Sorry, Bystander, I've been trying to figure out how 500 turns into Todd Graham, but maybe Graham applied 500 times.

Yes. And according to him, HE was the reason they won those. I've always thought Jerruh was a pompous turd, but when fired Jimmy, I considered him an absolute fool, and megalomaniac.
