Frankly, I don't give a **** who wore blackface. The guys who did it did so at a time it wasn't so politically toxic, and they shouldn't be raked over the coals 30 or 40 years later for it. At most, an apology for "doing something in my youth I now look back on and regret" should be more than sufficient. And this holds true no matter what party the politician in question belongs to.

    Full circle?

According to MSNBC (lol), Virg Lt Gov Justin Fairfax has hired Brett Kavanaugh's lawyers for handling the sexual misconduct allegations.

    Can't make this crap up.

Incidentally, I saw that Pocohantas sort of wrote off the Texas card thing by saying it was 30 years ago. That made no difference to her in the Kavanaugh farce when she excoriated him along with the others. POS.

They all knew about it -- Dem Pols and Dem Media -- and they sat on it
While they were gleefully slandering Kavanaugh

It really is pathetic. Their sanctimony on this stuff is truly nauseating.

The craziness is getting out of hand. Now a massive purge is underway to "out" every celeb and politician whoever did blackface.

So far I've heard about: Joy Behar (she did a "beautiful black woman"), Robert Downey Jr. (Tropic Thunder), Dan Ackroyd (as Eddie Murphy on SnL), and dozens of others.

Spike Lee was on the news saying how hateful it is, but seemed to forget about two of his movies where actors did blackface including:

spike lee movies blackface - Bing video

And what about blacks doing whiteface, as in the Wayan's "White Chicks"? Isn't that just as hateful.

They just can't bring themselves to say it for a Democrat. Yeah, let's hear all the apologists who say there's no media bias and it's all just straight journalism explain this one.

Megyn Kelly has to be shaking her head right about now - although she did fall on a large pile of money so maybe she doesn't care.

Agreed, although it is comical to see the PC beast eat its own.

When I was a kid, one of the most popular "sitcoms" on TV was Amos & Andy. An all white cast doing blackface. The skits were very demeaning to blacks. Even as a kid, I recognized that.

There were only 2 channels then; CBS and NBC. Pretty ironic that one of those two networks carried it, isn't it?

I think which ever one of those racist networks carried the show has a lot of 'splain' to do.

Here we have not 1 but 2 Dem. outrages blowing up in their faces.
I hope the RNC and any Republican with a Mic or puter. do not let these crisises to waste. (Thanks Rahm)

Agreed. The only reason I care about any of this is because it's fun to watch people getting hung from their own gallows. Metaphorically, of course - not in actuality!

The media keeps trying to catch Democrats in the hallways to ask them about the sexual assault allegations against the Virg Lt Gov.
They have received their marching orders now and so they have a canned response ready, "I dont know anything about it," and they keep walking away.
Pretty marked contrast to the Kavanaugh hearings when they were throwing themselves in front of cameras to give voters some 'expert commentary.'

Going to be harder to do that now

I listened to a little liberal radio this morning. The discussion was around whether either of the three should resign. Since it was a black host, the overwhelming majority of callers felt both black face perps should resign immediately. However, none felt Fairfax should resign.

On another note, does anyone here who was older than 10 years old in 1980 remember anyone listening to rap much less dressing up as a rap star? How this passed without any scrutiny is amazing.

I was only 4 in 1980, but I lived and went to school in Oakland, California, which means I'm much blacker than Justin Fairfax and 10 times blacker than Barack Obama. I remember people listening to rap in the very early '80s, but I don't remember seeing people dressing up like rappers. Rap was a pretty new genre, and I don't remember there being a distinct rap culture or "look" to imitate or dress up like yet.
