These bricked threes have to be some master plan by Shaka.

At least they didn’t wait until the second half to blow a 19 point lead.

Since we are the #2 seed I believe we host this game as well which will be the winner of tonight's game between Xavier and Toledo.

On the bright side...cannot finish the season below .500 now.

I did my part last night...bet SDSU with the eight points. Got worried when it went to FT time but lucked out when Texas could not convert both shots time and again.

Was good to see Osetkowski get his career high but had to laugh at some of those half-court gallops after a steal. It was almost on par with football when a lineman snags a fumble and lumbers in for a score...

It is a sad state of affairs when parking costs almost as much as getting in the door to watch the game. Would be interesting to see if the attendance went up if parking fees were reduced for these games...

Those are standard parking fees. They haven't changed for some time. If the ticket price at $12 and $14 doesn't get fans to come watch, the parking is not going to make a difference. Either you come watch or you find an excuse to stay away.

Alright, I bought tickets to watch softball at noon and am considering hoops at 3pm for a Sunday Longhorn marathon....not sure I can handle that much in one day though. :smile1:

As usual, you completely missed the point. I don't care if they are the 'standard' fees. The reality is that turnout for Game 1 was pathetic. The school COULD have taken a step to increase attendance by decreases in parking fees. But at least the program has brainwashed you sufficiently well to tout the party line.

It leaves the school with terrible optics when the media is left with no choice but to show an empty Erwin Center...other programs were moving their Nobody's Interested Tournament games into cozier confines on campus. The program and campus muckety-mucks COULD have taken actions that made for a better game-time attendance and environment but chose not to do so.

I'm not sure right now if, say, letting students in for free, just to pack the place would even work. Most probably wouldn't walk from Jester to even see a free game.

From a bottom line view, this could be a profit deal --- what with concession prices being what they are.

I'm only a bit sarcastic about this opinion; it's a free market, people do what they want to do, go see what they want to see. A poor product doesn't sell too well at any price.

Recalling that haunting line from a sports movie a few years ago: "If you build it, they will come."

Agree with you 100%, but there is a reason you see a clearance aisle or display in just about every retailer. There is always someone interested in cheap or free stuff.

Yeah, there are a lot of those "Dollar Stores" and more opening all the time.

I guess AA and AAA batteries are the same everywhere.

If lowering ticket prices aren't going to make a difference, lowering parking sure is not. If you want to go to an event, parking is the least of your concerns.

Don't say that lowering parking would make a difference if you don't want that to be the point.

I agree that the attendance is terrible. But that is on the fans deciding that they don't want to go, not on the price of parking. And certainly, not on the lower ticket prices.

65-62 Texas with 3:30 to play with Xavier seeming to mostly only want a three while Texas is actually playing team ball. We might pull this one out if we continue moving the ball and driving into the lane.

Roach comes back in at the 4:29 mark. No points in two minutes, but 2 turnovers. So its crunch time. Can the Horns bring it home?

1:15 left Horns up by 3 with the ball. Bad shot by Ramey too early in the clock. Xavier comes down and gets the two at point blank range.
Horns up by one with 49 seconds left. Can they take this home?

With the score 70-69 and Texas leading with 2.7 seconds left Roach gets faked out and fouls on the Xavier shot. Xavier makes one of two to force OT. Xavier gets the FT rebound and almost scored but Sims got away with a bump on the shot causing the miss.

Febres misses from 3 feet. Xavier rebounds.

Roach fouls the shooter with two seconds left. Three serious mistakes for Roach and no points for Roach since he's been back in with 4:29 left.

Xavier last second goal in the first half is the difference. Horns went to sleep to let it happen.

Xavier kid makes one of two. Sims save the game by blocking the shot of the Xavier kid who beat him for the rebound.

Texas is still trying to play real basketball working it down low to Sims who gets fouled making both FT. 73-72 xavier.

Texas runs down the clock and Roach fouled driving to the basket. Makes one FT, Texas gets rebound and fouled with 16.8 left.

Roach misses both FT and Xavier misses next shot. Jump ball so Xavier gets ball on possession. 78-76 Texas with 1.3 left.
