Only two teams from the Big 12 left in the NCAAs after KSU and Texas were knocked out in the first round. ISU and Baylor came up with easy wins on their home courts, advancing to the round of 32. ISU beat New Mexico State 97-61 and Baylor drummed Abilene Christian 95-38. Hope both make deep runs in the NCAAs.
Baylor will face off with Cal in Waco on Monday night at 8 PM on ESPN. ISU will play Missouri State in Ames on Monday night at 8 PM on ESPN. While the main ESPN channel will likely focus on one game, in Texas, probably the Baylor game, both games should be available on one of ESPN's secondary channels, in Austin, one of 392, 393, 394 or 395. The ISU should also be shown in its entirety on one of those four channels.
I suppose I should stop arguing that more Big 12 teams deserved to be in the NCAA tournament. After our third-place team lost to the Big 10's tenth-place team, and our fourth-place team got totally destroyed by the Big 10's fourth-place team, there's not much left to debate.
Why? No reason to think that TCU or WVU couldn't have won their first game. Texas wasn't the only seven seed to lose to a tenth seed. And it's not like they got blown out. Records indicated that TCU and WVU were as deserving of getting in as Tenn and others that sneaked in ahead of them. Yeah, KSU was a surprise with how poorly they played, but not an anomaly. There were others that played poorly. Not of that is a reason to stop pushing for league teams in the conference that are deserving to be invited to the dance.
We didn't just lose to a 10 seed...we lost to a team that came in TENTH PLACE (out of 13) in their conference... let that sink in.
You can try to spin it anyway you want @BabHorn, and it will never change the fact that we had an embarrassing loss to the TENTH PLACE team from the Big 10 in the FIRST ROUND. I respect and appreciate you as a fan, but this kind of spin does nothing to diminish severely underachieving with the talent we have.
Indiana has flaws like every team; but, they managed to beat national #2 seed Iowa in conference play; and, they also beat #6 seed UCLA in non-conference play. Let that sink in for a while. FACTS
They were STILL a 10th place team in the Big Ten, a #10 seed, and THEY BEAT US.... Oh, by the way.....how's your campaign to become a moderator coming along.....LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Says the wannabe moderator. *Footnote: Indiana had a couple of quality wins, but STILL finished tenth place in their conference with a losing conference record. Glad WE weren't depending on two quality wins to make the tournament... we'd have been a penny waiting on change.
While I want to say they are two of the biggest whiners on this board, I actually believe now that they are one and the same . . .
Well, you're the one who went crying to the moderator with his little bobcat tail between his legs because he got his feelings hurt; moderator was probably laughing at what a whiny baby you are . . .
I know how big and powerful you feel when you get that sudden rush of KEYBOARD COURAGE, so I'll repeat myself again since you seem to have memory issues. I don't need to hide behind my keyboard. I sit in Section 21, Row 6, Seats 7 and 8. The same seats I have had for YEARS. So anytime you want to come down and talk to me face to face, you'll know very QUICKLY how much of a "baby" I am..... Have you thought about hiring a new campaign manager for that long lost moderator position you "supposedly" were offered YEARS AGO???
It just can't stop "moderating," can it? Funny thing how it cares so much about others' opinions, when others don't give a about it's opinion.
ISU going down to 11 seed Missouri State, 69-60, in Ames. Has to be a disappointing finish for Bridget Carleton, Alexa Middleton and the rest of the Cyclone team. Wonder if Tenn fans will start calling for Kelly Harper to come home to coach the Lady Vols. Baylor had no trouble with Cal, downing the Golden Bears 102-63, to advance to the Sweet 16.
Have to wonder what Kelly could do with the players TN has. She wasn't able to please at NC State while she was there, but maybe she was in over her head there having just come from Western Carolina.
Yep... There's Baylor and then there's all the perrenial mediocrity, and apparently there are those on this board who think competing for best dressed is an accomplishment.
I think you’re referring to brnkj something is seriously wrong with that individual. Like I said a hope that he/she is a teenager and not an actual adult if so it’s a lost cause.
