NIT Championship: Horns vs Lipscomb

Felt this game deserves its own thread.

I'll admit, didn't think Shaka could get us more than 1 win in this tourney, so good for him.

Looking forward to bringing home the NIT Championship home. Things could be worse.

Lipscomb is 2-2 against teams in the RPI Top 50. Soon to be 2-3, baby!

 

Nothing like being guaranteed the 69th or 70th best spot in a sport.

 

I'm surprised they haven't been crying to the aggys in theTexas Congress to pass a law that they get to borrow our NC trophies to put in their hall of shame, with the UT name covered up of course.

Let's be positive; there are far more school playing D-1 basketball than D-1 football. Not sure of the numbers, but I think being 70th in basketball is the equivalent of being maybe #51-53 in football.

I think that would get Herman or Strong or Brown, or even DKR fired regardless of buyout anount.

 

There are 351 division I NCAA basketball teams, so finishing 69th or 70th would be in the top 20% or to equate to football, it would be 25th in the top 25.

For well over 30 years, I have been a proponent of only allowing schools with D-1 football teams to participate in D-1 basketball.
