It's a testament to someone that the team decided to play this one out and win the tournament. Was it the players? Did Shaka hit on something that can be a building block for next year? Were they finally consistent enough to beat inferior teams? Hard for me to say but I'm glad they won the tourney.

Out of all the teams that suck, we suck the least. That’s worth something. :hookem:

    WAY TO GO HORNS!!
    I agree with the announcers.
It's like the football team winning a really good bowl game.
Maybe not a New Years Day bowl.
    But a good one.
Proud of the team for fighting their way to a championship.
And some of the young guys really played well.
It's good to get that extra playing time and practice.

Funny the hardest games were out first 2.... then we just smoked fools. Honeslty once we got past Xavier(def thought we'd drop that one) it was smooth sailing. Much better play.

You could tell in the post-game interview on the court that Osetkowski was not happy about being in the NIT as opposed to the NCAA March Madness, but he at least noted that you always want to end the season with a win. It will be interesting to see if he makes a roster somewhere next year...not as a starter, but certainly someone capable of coming off the bench for a good eight to ten minutes a game.

Only, what, four teams get to end their seasons with a win, right? I’ll take it! :bevo::hookem:

I didn't see the interview but maybe he was just feeling the lament of what could have been.

23 assists to only 10 turnovers for Texas in this one. And check out Dylan's stat line to close out his career at Texas: 19 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 0 turnovers.

It was more like a 220, but yes.

I'm mostly going with the latter. Basically it's like we got to play the equivalent of bottom 3 teams in the Big 12 for five straight games, with Roach playing in all the games.
