I wanted to start a new thread to post the tailgate location so it didn’t get buried in the other thread. If you think you might be able to come, please fill out the survey at this link if you have not done so already. This just helps us to get an idea on how many might be there. DATE: Saturday, April 13 TIME: 12:30 to 5:30 LOCATION: Between San Jacinto Garage and Simkins Hall @SabreHorn recommended this spot since it has some shade, and if it rains we could duck into the garage. So we will set up there and see how it goes. @WorsterMan and @AC are going to show up early and claim the spot. @ShAArk92 will bring the burnt orange Victory Vette. You should see a couple Hornfans banners and a popup canopy or two. We will have some wrist bands and mouse pads (while they last) to give away. Hope you can join us.
Looks good, Dion! Looking forward to it. Getting the mesquite cut/split tomorrow (already dry, btw, don't you BBQ nerds worry none ... no green wood here!)
Sangre - I plan to arrive a little before 10 AM to stake our claim on the site. Would love company from you or anyone that cares to arrive early!! Believe AC is supposed to arrive ~ 10:30 AM ~
This is new to my kids but they are looking forward to it. We’ll hit the co-op on Friday to get the grandson some proper colors to wear.
Looking at the weather, I hope any rain holds off until after the game! I probably jinxed it by bringing it up....
You know what they say about the weatherman? Don't you? Did we quite when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor?????
Wish I could be there for the spring game cause I am fired up about our offense. We are oozing talent and led by a QB with experience and skills with moxie. Every team we face will fear our offense. Sam is not going to let us lose and if that happens the score will be something like 48-47.
Bill, Dion and I are bringing burnt orange canopies for shelter from any rain and or shade as needed. Bring your canopy please - we may need it...
@Austin_Bill — your canopy could come in very handy. Talking with @SabreHorn today, he said the area that we have marked on the map can extend further north up San Jacinto, along the tree line, so we may look to spread out that way if we need to. Parking along San Jacinto street near the garage should be fine if there is space. I saw this map on TexasSports.com today which shows that area of San Jacinto street available for parking.
Update... We scouted the location on foot today and this looks like a great area. It’s just on the other side of the creek that runs by San Jacinto Garage. Lots of trees and shade, plenty of room for canopies and chairs, etc. I suggest we target this spot. Click the image for a larger view.
