"I'm coming away concerned about the interior of the offensive line. However, we get Parker Braun and I'm hoping he will solidify the interior. If he can bring what Calvin Anderson brought, You are going to see some big long runs and a safe and protected Sam Ehlinger."
Agree: Braun will likely be our best lineman the day he dons the burnt orange. IMHO Angilau looked so-so in pass protection, but very good on running plays when he was pulling.* Center play=not off-the-charts awful but not so great either (not even including the muffed snaps by our 2nd team center). Hopefully, part of this is due to Coburn and Wilbon being good NTs...?
* I'm thinking Angilau will end up considerably better than Vahe. The way I see it, Vahe was a flat-out liability in pass protection, while good at short yardage/straight ahead power run blocking, and ok on the pull. On the other hand, Angilau looks really good on pulling plays, will equal or out-power most DL he'll face, and admittedly needs some work (but isn't a liability) at pass protection.
