She likely will be playing for Australia in the FIBA U19 games, July 20-28.

I agree BabHorn, not only the Australians, but this being a World Championship year, many international players from other countries that are currently over here for college or about to go into their first year of college over here will be travelling to their respective countries to train with their national teams to get ready for Worlds in Thailand in July. They will be training during what is known as the off season here in US.

    I
I really do hope Celeste does get selected for the National team as well. It would be advantageous for our Texas program to have both our incoming guards whether they are from US, Australia or any other country competing at an international level. It will only make our program stronger and help prepare them for conference play.

dang, hadn't realized Celeste and her teammates were still playing. Guess I will have to watch the game after the Texas game.

Celeste shows a lot of poise and maturity. She's a future leader for the Horns.

I know she isn’t likely to say anything negative but it’s still good to hear. Celeste’s coach at the MCDAA game, Archbishop Mitty HC Sue Phillips (Haley Jones’ high school coach):

One thing is certain -- Celeste's Dad has modeled consistent courtesy and consideration for others!

Sound quality is pretty bad and the interviewer talks just as much as Celeste but still some good information...

Is it possible us’ns experts are wrong and she is better than originally thought? Those highlights look better.

We obviously have to wait and see until she steps foot on a college court.

Agree. I don’t know if the film was sped up but she looked faster than in previous clips.

Celeste made MaxPreps Top 50 of the 2018-2019 season. Not a recruiting ranking, based on production and impact on team.

Celeste Taylor, Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.)
    5-11 | Senior | Guard | Texas

Taylor has always been known for her superb defense, but she also averaged 16.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 4.0 steals a game against a very tough slate of opponents.

Yeah. Ashlee signed during the fall period in November. Isabel (Issy) didn’t commit until after that signing window closed. I’d like to see a couple of transfers in, grads preferred, especially a SG and a post player, but you’re right, I’m not sure there’s a difference maker at either of those spots that Texas would have an in with.

No surprise - Celeste was 1 of the 30 players invited to the U19 tryouts for Team USA that will play in the U19 World Cup in Thailand in July. Karen Aston is a member of the selection committee.

    Congrats to Celeste.

What is the deal with yanks saying ‘Texas University’?
