Yeah, I'm glad for the focus. I think that means that we'll eventually be a top player. But for 2020, 247 says that 2 of the Top 5 Texans are North Texas kids who are committed elsewhere. 4 of the next 10 (or 6 of the Top 15 total) are from North Texas and we got Jackson out of D'ville. 2 of the next 5 (16-20 in Texas) are from North Texas and we lead for Prince.
So 8 of the Top 20 in Texas are from North Texas. We have one commit (Jackson) and lead for one (Prince Dorbah). We're out on the other 6. I said elsewhere that 25%-35% of the North Texas would be ok for me, so I'll stand by that if we get Dorbah.
Missing out in North Texas on...
Drew Sanders #27 nationally - Alabama
RJ Mickens #49 nationally - Clemson
Nate Anderson #74 nationally - ouSUX
Jalen Kimber #77 Nationally - Georgia
Jaxon Smith-Njigba #86 nationally - ohio state
EJ Smith #126 nationally - CBs to Stanford
Seeing that Prince is outside the Top 100 for right now, there are 6 Top 100 national recruits from North Texas, and we have/are in on 1.
Hopefully we improve for 2021 where all of the Top 5 TEXANS are from North Texas and we are in on/lead with ALL of them!!! Brockemeyer, Wheaton, Stone, Byrd, Sanders...all North Texas...all Top 32 nationally...all have 100% CBs to the good guys.
That sounds like some focusness!
