Pete also benefitted from a very good cast of receivers. He'd often loft the ball up for grabs and a Cash brother would jump up and come down with it. To Pete's credit, most of his OLs were a bit spotty, to be generous. He also had an almost supernatural on-the-field connection with Johnny Walker. It's difficult to recall an example of better QB/WR chemistry and feel for where a WR was at any given time (including on the scramble) than Gardere had with Johnny Walker.
What does your knowledge of Longhorn football have to do with you acting like a jerk on here to other fans?
Yea all true. Not helping me through my mid life crisis either, all this drama, drama, drama. I have two teenage girls, I get all the drama I need. I come here to relax. Chillax. Think happy thoughts. I hope next week is better for me. I hope that for all you guys. Many people of us are friends......
From my perspective the OU-TX rivalry and the game outcomes have been driven primarily by the caliber of the head coaches. This has been particularly true when both coaches remained the same for an extended period of time. While DRK’s overall record was 12-7-1 and was usually the superior coach, I don’t think that he ever beat cheatin’ Barry. MB didn’t do very well against Stoops, going 6-9 including the blowout losses. Too often he was out-coached, but obviously he did win a few big ones. I believe that we are on the front end of the next golden era for Texas Football because of Herman. I expect for him to be very successful against OU. In fact, over the next 10 years I’ll go out in a limb and predict “at least” a 2 to 1 W/L ratio. He’s now 1-2 competing against two Heisman caliber QBs, and if the B12 Championship game had been officiated fairly, he might have been 2-1 now. The coming years should be fun to watch.
When Mack first got here there was talk of a major upgrade. Seriously how much can you upgrade? IPhone's in the bathroom stalls?
The compound nature of your question prevents a simple yes or no. Yes there is an amusing clip. But no there was no big deal.
