Hmm, let's discuss the reasons and no one do anything about the problem.

I think we need to consider that motivations are going to be different for different people and institutions.

I'm sure that trade, money, and defense alliances are factors in Western governments ignoring Christian persecution. Is political correctness and controlling the narrative why the media mostly ignores it? Is there really any doubt?

The left-leaning media and Democratic party in America push their agenda and global Christian and Jewish persecution isn't on the agenda. The Left generally hates religion, but for some reason they seem to be coddling Islam at the moment, which is odd considering Islam's stance on homosexuality and women's rights.

Middle East Christians face despair and threat of extinction

    is the billion dollar question."
So far no Dem has explained that. You would think Hollywood for instance would be loud on this.

They subscribe to "The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend" school of picking bedfellows. Islam is the sworn enemy of Christians.

Nope, and frankly, I'm surprised that this is starting to get attention. We're a few centuries late to figuring this out. There used to be large populations of Christians and Jews throughout the Middle East, and most of them were killed or driven out. It's no surprise. Islam has spread mostly through conquest, and that means persecution and murder of those who resist.

They have a common enemy. Both are hostile to the West, and Christianity defines the modern West more than anything else. If Christianity is destroyed or marginalized into powerlessness, that alliance will fall apart very fast.

But the "Left" lives and enjoys the benefits of living in the West. They often and loudly shout for women's rights and LBGTQ.
Do they think they can selectively support muslims at the same time as pretending to support women and gays?

The smarter leftists ought to place Christianity between them and Islam cause it won’t be pretty for them when Christianity is gone.

I think all you have to do to be a muslim is say "there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is Allah’s prophet" and boom, you're a muslim. A pragmatic leftist would avail himself of that escape route if push came to shove.

Leftists are hard core Statists. They will always trust their ability to employ violence better than poor Islamic countries. For example look at every US President since the 20th Century. Not all were Leftists but the vast majority had no problem with wars, big or small.

They will turn their guns on Muslims in the US quickly once the Christians are "defeated". Leftist movements are always in a process to purge non-believers, even the originators of the movement are not safe.

Protecting Christians and Jews who are persecuted (and there are multitudes of them) should be a major foreign policy concern.

The Saudis are NOT our friends. Their opinions should carry little to no weight.

A short, and incomplete, list of countries where life is really, really tough if you are a Christian (and usually even worse if you are a Jew):

    Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
    Egypt
    North Korea
    Pakistan
    Islamic Republic of Iran
    Libya
    Sudan
    Chad
    Algeria
    Turkey
    Iraq
    Tunisia
    Bangladesh
    Sri Lanka
    Somalia
    and others...

Wouldn't it be funny if Sasha Baron Cohen, or someone like that, infiltrated a big Democratic Party rally is disguise as a Muslim leader. He could take the podium and talk about how gays should be thrown off of tall buildings, etc. Heads would explode.

Good morning Ms Radical Leftist Feminist. Meet your new boss, Mr Ibrahim Al Bin Salaam. Conference Room A is now reserved for prayers 3x daily. He will be enforcing a 'modest' dress code--at his managerial discretion. And please don't bring any ham sandwiches or other pork products into the office. The happy hours are going away. If there are ever any management--employee disputes, he'll submit them to a Sharia arbitrator. I'm sure you'll enjoy working under him--I hear he treats women fairly.

Leftist political leaders have the favor of the media, so they're never asked about the inconsistencies of being supportive of women and gays and Muslims at the same time. And your average Leftist voter is too shallow and dumb to even consider it. They see that the Right is skeptical of Islam, and they kneejerk assume, without evidence, that racism and bigotry are the drivers of that skepticism. That's enough reason for them to be pro-Muslim and avoid any serious consideration or thought.

The left is hardly monolithic. I know many of you view me as a supporter of Muslims … when I don't agree with them in forcibly creating converts and discriminating against Christians and all other dissenters. I do like the Muslims I know, who tend to be very bright, moderate in habits and good citizens in the community. Mostly I advocate that Muslims be evaluated as individuals rather than as co-conspirators to terrorists.

Is it anti-semetic to be troubled when a Palestinian who suffered a heart attack … in an ambulance on life support … is turned away at a checkpoint trying to get to the only nearby hospital where his life could be saved? It would be a shame, because I really like all the Jews I know well.

I honestly don't know as much as I should about the internal dynamics in foreign countries. Like Musburger frequently points out, many of us take sides in conflicts with little understanding of either side. I do believe in Classical Liberal Western Values and defend them when I see the opportunity. Alas, those values, so ingrained in my worldview, don't resonate around the world.

I don't think it's antisemitic, but I also think it's fair to analyze those situations through the lens of a country whose neighbor routinely tries to sneak across those checkpoints to blow up Jews.

I've literally never met a Muslim I didn't like. But I've only met Muslims in the United States. Polling data has been taken on Muslims from other parts of the world. Their views are very different from those of Muslims in the US, and there isn't anything wrong with wanting those who emigrate to the US to generally share Western values. Even Bill Maher understands this.

We also shouldn't mollycoddle and make excuses for someone because he or she is Muslim. For example, Ilhan Omar's comments about Israel and Jews are pretty similar to what David Duke says about them. But people don't hesitate to call Duke a raging antisemite but can't bring themselves to say the same about Omar because they don't like the narrative. That is ridiculous.

The Democrats had nothing to say against David Duke when he was a Democrat. They aren't against Anti-Semitism they are against Republicans. Ilhan Omar is not a Republican.

Our political system is a bland game of Blue vs Red. Not much more at this point.

I think it has more to do with the fact that most Muslims vote Democratic.

That didn't used to be true. Muslims used to vote GOP. The difference now is the rise of terrorism and identity as major political forces. Democrats' goal is to incorporate as many identities into their coalition as possible. Muslims are simply another identity.

We're getting closer and closer to energy independence. KSA can f@ck off and keep their damn oil. There are plenty of other suppliers to make up any deficits--and that's with Venezuela almost completely off line (a situation that won't last forever).

With friends like the Saudis, who needs enemies?

Chop, until Democrats pass a law to outlaw fossil fuel use. They will do it if they get a chance. Not even sure the Republicans wouldn't at some point.
