That too. Get the two--Biden and Franken--together and it would be a convention of groping and lechery.

Just remember that only 7 months ago, this same guy was framed by the same political media as an inspiring, unifying, deep, cool, and transformational figure that the people of Texas would be lucky to vote for. Now, he's a shallow, ignorant dolt who can't even amuse an 8th grader. It's amazing how big of a difference an opponent can make in how a candidate is framed. Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen the contrast so stark in 28 years of following politics.

I'm loving how CNN is all of sudden discovering Biden's immigration positions (fencing, employer punishment, changing immigration laws, etc). Never mind that Obama, HRC, Pelosi et al...have all said the same thing. Someone at CNN doesn't like that JB is leading this race.

It is a phenomenon. He Loses a state election, only to be “drafted” to run for President.

Dems like him because he gives lip service to their hot button issues of the moment and he appeals to young folk. But, you get the sense that he’s just mouthing the words, that there’s no real conviction. Even worse, I think that he takes the Dems’ ideas just a little too far, like saying he’d take down the border wall and take wealthy white folks money away and give it to blacks.

Saw recording of the Klobuchar town hall. She's much longer in common sense, and shorter in crazy stupid ideas, than what I've seen from the rest of the Dem field this cycle. Solid Midwesterner type. She's running low in the polls now. Could be a solid pick for VP if Biden wins the primary. (Also, groping Joe won't be tempted to inappropriately touch her). Dems go all in for the Upper Midwest.

Major campaigning problem, and I'll put this as kindly as I can: she's not the most photogenic woman you'll see on television. It's not fair that women are judged on their beauty as well as their platform and leadership, but they are. She's also exudes a rather strong, know-it-all, commanding, even pushy personality, which could be a plus for a leader, but could also turn some voters off coming from her (see Hillary).

Then how on Earth did Nancy Pelosi ever win an election?

Perhaps the Dems need a celebrity to run.

Nothing an Oprah or The Rock could say that would best the craziness we've already heard from some of the field.

Is there even room in the Democratic party today for a pro-life*, pro-heavy industry (including oil and steel), pro-growth, pro-development, pro-Social Security and Medicare (but not necessarily so big on unearned welfare programs), pro-serviceman and veteran, patriotic, FDR/Truman style Democratic candidate?

This sort of person used to be the very core of the Democratic Party, and they dominated national politics.

*the pro-life vs pro-choice divide is a relatively new political creation. Wasn't even on the radar until the 1970s.

Apparently those types of Democrats have now become Republicans.

Seems like it. Yet the GOP ideologues often take a laissez faire free market "purist"/non-pragmatic view of things such as Soc Sec, Medicare, public goods, unions, public schools, etc. It's left a huge group largely unrepresented by either party. Reagan (and Trump) marketed heavily and effectively to this group, though their ideology clearly splits with them on a number of lines.

I suspect that Biden and some of the other more moderate Dems hold these sorts of views (other than the pro-life which has become sort of a litmus test), but they run as more "progressives" in the primary to appeal to the typical Dem primary voter, not to your average person.

I remain of the opinion that the independents and moderates determine the general election. The DNC knows this and will not let a Bernie-type win the primary.

Chop, you've made an excellent observation. The hard-core party members (Red and Blue) are going to vote straight party tickets, and the independents and moderates will make the difference. I personally hope the Dems nominate one of the far-left socialist candidates - that should nail down reelection for President Trump. No moderates will vote for an avowed socialist.

Of course not. They'll rig it against him again using super delegates, just like they did in 2016.

Poor Beto is trying to "restart his campaign" by going on "The View" and groveling. He apologized for his "white male privilege" and spoke a few lines in Spanish. Jeez grow a pair Beto. Nobody wants a ***** for President.

I like the things Tulsi Gabbard has been talking about, less war and free speech. The problem is would she do any of it if she became President? Probably not. Then we would still have to live with all the other bad economic things that she would most likely be for.

If she comes out anti-tariff, anti-Fed, and anti-Green New Deal. I could see myself voting for her.

According to Reuters, Biden has increased his lead by 5% since he announced in April. He has a double digit lead over Trump in the way-too-early polling in Pennsylvania.

I guess the whole "Creepy Uncle Joe" thing hasn't slowed him down.

Meanwhile, Beto live streams himself getting a haircut while answering political questions. And this is the new "rebooted" campaign. You gotta wonder who is giving him advice.
