KA shows the worst shortsmanship of all. Whether after a win or a loss never stopping, even briefly, to offer or receive congratulatory pleasantries with opposing coaches or players. Her demeanor REEKS of negativity... definitely aligned with the old bitter regime.

How about everyone on this board get back to being adults? It's fine to disagree with a perspective someone posts, but it is not okay to call people names: not other people on this board, not coaches, not players. There are plenty of ways to disagree: utilize opinion, observation or evidence. That's much stronger argumentation. It is possible to make your case for or against any post or issue without acting like a young child who gets emotionally stuck and calls someone a stupidhead when hurt or angry.

In this tweet from Coach Aston she comments "Great 8"? No mention of Shea Routt? I really question her long term future with the program.

Has had a very up-and-down relationship with the WBB program.
    1) committed
    2) de-committed
    3) where is she going to school?
    4) is it related to where her mom is teaching? But, is she teaching there?
    5) committed
    6) injury (passing out during practice)
    7) no information, zero. zilch. quiet.

I totally agree with you racer! Her participation with the team has been perplexing to say the least! Now Aston’s tweet says it is not available? But when I tap on the link it still comes up??? Maybe she is on crutches and just not participating? It is a conspiracy theory but why did Aston not acknowledge her?

Well, the non-conference schedule is pretty much like most of the last few years with two "top 25" opponents, and a bunch of the local regional schools that don't help us much SOS/RPI wise (UTSA, UTRGV, Northwestern State, and Southern).

Opening on the road at South Florida is a surprise (I prefer we open at home each season); having them and Arizona, and Ohio are decent, and I'd say an improvement over some of the teams on last year's schedule.

OOC schedule strength not great but could be improved depending on whoever they face in the 3 games in Hawaii.

Aston is excited about the "competitive" non-conference schedule? Hmm. I see only 2 home games that have any business being overly "competitive" and a couple more away. Some good teams have played in the Hawaii tournament the last few years so I am hopeful that will improve the schedule. The Big 12 is not what it was ten years ago. Other than Baylor, we cannot count on another conference team to help the NCAA resume that much. One or two Big 12 teams may step up in any given season. In the past I might already have amused myself looking at team rosters for next year. Now, it may be quite a bit later before the dust starts to settle on all the transfers in and out.

I found the participants of the last 3 Rainbow Wahine Showdowns (Hawaii is always the 4th team) and I'll say I hope the field is more like the 2016 version than the last 2:
    • 2016: Oregon, Mississippi State, San Jose State
    • 2017: Southern Cal (USC), Purdue, Marist
    • 2018: Stanford, FGCU, American
It seems they tend to bring in 1 'name' team and 2 'beatable' opponents. 2016 was an oddity because that would have been Ionescu's freshman year and before Oregon rocketed to prominence, the Ducks finished that season 23-14.

2018: FGCU was a 13 seed this year (28-5) and were knocked out of the NCAA tourney by #4 Miami in the first round. American (22-11) got booted in the first round of the WNIT by Penn. Stanford (31-5) was the 'name' team and made it to the Elite 8 before losing to ND - handed Baylor their only loss last season.

When you run the numbers--if the tourney has similar quality to last years--it's a much better schedule than last year's. Last year we scheduled 6 terrible teams with RPI significantly worse than 150 that were a drag on our RPI. This year there are 3 terrible teams and one bad team that finished right at 150. IMO, it appears that Aston is starting to get that it makes a difference for RPI and other rankings whether you schedule an average team that you will crush vs. a terrible team you will crush, even though it probably shouldn't.

This tweet showed up in my timeline because I follow Coach Tiffany. At this time, only Lashann, from WBB, has interacted with the pinned tweet. Just wondering what others make of it. As for “moving up” I certainly hope that means within the burnt orange system she’s a part of. Perhaps the success of Ariel, Imani, and Brooke has given her inspiration and determination, showing the direction where commitment and hard work can lead. Guess there’s no use in speculating, and we will know whatever when we know it, as always. However, it was vague tweets like this from a couple of our former players that made me stop following our players on social media.

It’s also interesting that her tweet encouraging Sarah Andrews to come to Texas has been deleted.

Let’s all take a breath. So many social media posts are only clear to those who are directly involved. This is from just a few minutes ago...

This is certainly a less “open to interpretation” tweet, and is more positive. I’m very glad to see it, especially after, as kurupt pointed out, the tweet-out to Andrews was deleted.

Something about the tweet I shared reminded me of any number of thinly-veiled tweets posted by Destiny all (ALL) throughout her freshman year, many of which seemed to imply that she wouldn’t be dragged down by the negativity of others. That class, for whatever reason, struggled, and as we all know, all three are gone.

Hopeful that we can continue to sign players that truly want to be at The University of Texas. In my opinion, regardless of level of talent, we’ve got nada if the recruits don’t actually want to be (t)here.

:e-thinking: Great find @DFW_Horn ! This seems similar to the "analyst" hires Tom Herman has made for football.

The job opening was posted nine days' ago. It wouldn't surprise me if they already know who they want to hire. Since the new hire will be helping with recruiting, this person could be in place by our first camp on June 8th.

I'm glad to see an addition to the staff as it will be a person with at least 3 years experience, so that's a positive.

I just noticed that Alan Major is no longer listed on the staff. I assume this role would be his replacement. Is it odd that there wasn't an announcement regarding his departure?
