Strictly speaking, the Chronicle article is incorrect given that there NEVER was a charge filed by Complaint or Information that alleged DWI. VY had been booked into the jail on a DWI allegation, but absent an actual filing having been made, there was no charge to see an offense reduced. But then again, the Comical (and too many of the masses) have never cared about factual recitation of issues in the criminal justice realm.
Having actually reviewed the filings in the case, I would tend to disagree...but hey, when did facts matter to the groups that don't believe in notions of due process and presumptions of innocence that exist under our system of law.
He wasn't taken into custody for DUI because no one saw him driving. The car was parked on the Fort Bend Toll Road or a street in Sienna Plantation. He has good legal counsel and solid representation in Fort Bend County. I do expect the judge to order him to get professional help as part of his deal.
Fine Fine.Ali is good. Especially since he had that long run for a first down against Kansas . That's a lifetime pass by itself.
He ALSO was NEVER charged by instrument of law with the offense of DWI. I challenge you to find ANY criminal Complaint or Information associated with this incident that charged VY with DWI. I'll save you some time...you WON'T find one. What you WILL find is that there were no filings until this past week, at which time he was formally charged in the manner described a few posts prior... And guess what...just because someone is booked does NOT mean the elements of the alleged offense were satisfied or even existed. That pesky little thing known as the law rearing its head again... Quite frankly, in the absence of a criminal filing alleging an alcohol-related offense, my guess is that the blood draw showed he was, in fact, NOT intoxicated in a manner described in the Texas Penal Code at Chapter 49.
That was 10 times more info my interest level. So long as no one was hurt I'm fine with it. Could have been me before I turned 22 which was the last time I drove drunk 42 years ago.
I think it's a Ron White bit that he was arrested for DWI on a bogus charge just because they were arresting everyone driving down the sidewalk....and that's profilin'......and profilin's WRONG.....
