Brooke will suit up for her first WNBA regular season game tonight as a member of the Dallas Wings. Dallas cut the reigning Naismith POY and 2nd round pick, Megan Gustafson, and it caused quite a stir on the twitter. Brooke and Imani back together. :coolnana:

Ariel kicks off her sophomore season with the Mystics tomorrow against the Sun.

Watching Dallas on WNBA.com streaming. Brooke is having an excellent game. 4 assists and 8 pts — still in the third. Ogunbowale started at pg but has been in foul trouble and has not had a good game.

Atlanta cut lead in 4th with no Brooke Bun on the floor. Coincidence? Maybe, but Brooke went back in. Wings up 1 with 4:43 to go.

Atlanta up now with less than a minute to go. Regardless of what happens, Brooke has proved she belongs. Imani has made some plays during her minutes also.

Arike is a shooting guard, not a point guard. She led the Wings taking 16 shots, making only 5, including going 1-6 from BTA, for 12 points and 1 assist.

Whereas, Brooke is a true point guard, 3-7 shooting, 2-3 BTA for 8 points, 8 assists.

Agree absolutely. Arike needs to be free to aggressively look for her own offense. Brooke was the only pg on the floor for Dallas tonight and the team clearly needed a pg to play well as a team. Jefferson is a pg and Diggins can play lead guard or shooting guard but it is not known when either of those two will return.

First game is Saturday at 6:30 vs the Sun. It’s not televised but WNBA League Pass is a pretty good deal. The only televised game this weekend is Mercury vs Storm, Saturday at 2:30 (ABC). Will be without a lot of the star power with Brianna Stewart, Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi injuries.

Ariel had herself a night and Brooke brought the crowd and bench to their feet.

Watched part of the game and noticed the play by play announcer was giving Brooke a nick name of BMW - Brooke McCarty-Williams.

Wings home games are on Fox Sports SW (1735 on ATT cable in DFW), and many WNBA games are on CBS Sports (1643) and NBA-TV (1632) after the playoffs. FSSW announcers are Reagan Pebley, TCU head coach, and Ron Thulin, who seems to genuinely enjoy calling the games and chatting about the players. He's the one who began calling Brooke BMW. She clearly knows how to run the floor and it will be interesting to see if she becomes a starter. She played well, but got clotheslined a couple of times by players who are a foot taller - :hookem:

Clash of the Longhorns this Sunday when Dallas (Brooke and Imani) take on Washington (Ariel) at 2:00. Unfortunately it’s a road game for the Wings. The only game the Mystics play in Arlington is the last day of August.

Ariel was the Player of the Game last night in Washington's 81-52 drubbing of Los Angeles in Candace Parker's first game of the regular season. Ariel scored a game high 22 points on 7/13 shooting (5/8 from 3, 3/4 FT). She could've recorded a new career high (26) but missed a couple of close/mid-range shots we've all seen her hit regularly but was on fire from beyond the arc.

The Mystics committed an uncharacteristic 18 turnovers but that was 9 less than the Sparks' 27. Two Washington bench players accounted for 10 of the 18. Candace Parker looked very rusty in her first action since the opening preseason game shooting 1/9 and turning the ball over 6 times herself.

Brooke’s minutes have declined dramatically in the past few games. Hope she makes it the whole season. Nice win tonight by her team.

Watched it - Wings should have won that game. Allisha Gray and Kaela Davis missed at least 5 layups combined by the announcers count. What’s up with that @SCspur ? :)

Ariel was always a player of few words so seeing her in the long format interview is certainly different.

As suspected, Ariel and extensive interviews are not a perfect match.
