I never liked all the “branding” crap but I understand that everything is about $$$ these days. Some ADs would probably slap a Coca-Cola logo on the helmet if the price was right.

Is this about the latest Nike / Kaepernick crybaby PR move?

If Stevie P was still here our players would have helmets that dispensed $6 Cokes to opposing players by now.

Brought to you by Carl's Junior ...

I think we're still more football / UT athletics than West Mall but I did make a minor edit.

I've been done with Nike for a while and avoided buying their products for many reasons. Unfortunately I / we cannot control what Belmont / the AD doe$.

While I abhor Knight's politics and hidden (or not so hidden) agenda, where do you go. Adidas is far more egregious in their sneaky attempts to turn administrators in to politically correct minions, even dipping into the re-branding of high schools, to the point that my favorite superintendent told Adidas, "We have pride, we have tradition, we have our Treaty. Get the f**k out of my office, get the f**k out of my school, get the f**k out of my town, my county & my state. The police are outside to provide you safe passage to the city limits. A Texas Ranger will escort you to the state line."

All that said, the sneaky midget sitting in the President's office may turn either or both into our new AD.

Yes this would belong on West Mall, except Nike isn't paying millions a year to further Fenves' personal agenda, but rather to have the swoosh on college athletics' most recognizable brand.

I hope CDC keeps the Swoosh. I'm sure that the student athletes who are minorities and have been told of the true brutality experienced by their parents, grandparents, as well as their great-grand parents, of the oppressive ideologies that stem from those 13 stars.

Those 13 stars stand for freedom and independence from he oppression of Great Britain. Perhaps it would be beneficial for some people to pick up a history book once in a while.

....but not from African slavery and the continued mindset of living white Americans who would like to reincorporate the ideology of those 13 stars. People do pick up a history books and find omitted information and straight lies - HIS STORY.

    Run,

Surely you aren’t suggesting we consider the actual facts.

Be careful, Fenves might find out your identity.

I don't. I guess you've been so busy getting upset by 200 year old flags that you don't know Nike's history of oppression in running human cattle factories for decades until FORCED to make changes. Read about Jim Keady, the soccer coach who refused to support Nike when his school accepted a multi-million dollar contract with the company. Keady was fired from his job for this.... I guess he's still waiting for his "Believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything" recognition from Nike.

If what 1.4% of the population did 250 years ago oppresses you then sir you have a mental problem. I'm sure you're just as offended by the approx 3000 blacks that owned slaves too.

And I'm sure you're more offended by the nearly twice as high % of men who enslave and sex traffick women and girls every year in the US. Girls as young as 2-3 years old being brutally raped and tortured 20-30x a day. I'm sure you spend all your free time trying to end these atrocities.

Apparently you don’t recall the northern states repealed slavery shortly after Independence, which was decades before Great Britain. The laggards in the South don’t diminish what happened in the North.

Texas is an extremely powerful brand and moving away from Nike would be a powerful statement that Texas doesn’t approve of the politicalization game Nike is playing. I get that Fenves probably shares Nike’s politics, but one can hope.

“What Happens Here Changes The World.” Well, here’s a chance to demonstrate it. (Of course I don’t hold out any hope that it will happen.)

Where would we go? To Under Armour, who made a very aggressive run at us a few years ago. There has to be an out clause in the Nike contract related to the behavior of the parties.

Never talked to a player, college or pro that liked or wanted to wear Reebok. Nothing political, just horribly uncomfortable according to them. I’ve personally never owned a pair.

    UA ain’t doin real great.

    Personally, bring back Riddell XPs

    Dion,

Please tell me "NO". When I was in HS, Puma gave us 200 pairs of shoes. After the second practice, they were all sent to our three junior highs and we returned to Riddell. There was a brief period that we were gifted 200 pairs of kangeroo hyde shoes. Softest shoe I've ever put on, but first cut and the shoe ripped down the side. Those shoes came with no name in plain white boxes. Still don't know who made them.

@SabreHorn you got a bad batch of Pumas

Our HS issued Adidas at the time but I defied the standard and wore my own
