Yea? What’s going on? I feel pretty certain there is a specific name already attached to this position! Cynthia Cooper maybe?? Aston had a lot of success with Tina. Just saying?

Does this mean we have lost a coach? Which one?

Washington, Jackson and Carey are the holdovers. Wouldn’t think the program would go to 4, especially this late in year. You could speculate easily on any of the 3 leaving and come up with a plausible reason. Won’t do that. Maybe it is a 4th coach.

Are even allowed to have a 4th coach in current NCAA rules?

    Hopefully it's an additional position.:hookem:

No, you’re not allowed to have more than three assistant coaches.

Just saw an article that says Tiffany Jackson is leaving to pursue interests outside of coaching.

Yeah, just my personal opinion but the post play had gone down a bit since Tina left. But then, the guard play has gone down since Travis left as well.

My thoughts is that it is more about recruiting than coaching! One of the primary responsibilities with Aston’s assistants is recruiting. Not sure Tiffany was cutting it in this area?

Since Jackson had post responsibilities, it remains to be seen how this affects Ware and/or others? Sure need to get a good post coach before the shop sails.

Good luck to Tiffany, I’m sure it’s going to affect Lauren Ware’s decision because she may not know who her position coach is going to be. It’s going to be interesting who Coach Aston decides to hire because the timing really isn’t good. Also keep in mind that Coach George is originally a post coach and he developed some quality players on the high school/AAU level and did a solid job when he was coaching the post a Texas.

Yeah, if that's the case get him back to posts! I haven't seen much blocking or determined rebounding lately.

George really did do a good job developing post players IMO.

Judging by her Instagram posts, she’s going back to play overseas. Wishing her all the best

Too bad about Tiff. I really wondered about the hire since, as far as I know, she had no coaching experience. I thought she had good connections in the Dallas area but that didn’t seem to work out in any big way.

Yep, I didn't want to be critical of our coaching staff at the time, but I thought it would be about the equivalent of hiring VY as QB coach.

Keep in mind Tina Thompson also didn’t have any coaching experience.

I loved having TJ on staff, and from what I could tell, she did a good job. More importantly she seemed to have a good rapport, and relationships with the players, and was well known and highly thought of around the state (not just the Dallas area). I could be wrong, but given the timing, I strongly doubt this was a program decision. Staff changes happen, but not this close to the start of the new year, with incoming players already on campus, and at a point many 2020 recruits are narrowing their lists, or making decisions. I'm guessing Tiffany decided to move on, though I have no idea why. Like others I can speculate. Obviously there is a great deal of pressure, and expectation that goes along with her position, and perhaps she decided that wasn't for her at this point in her life. But that's based on nothing and just one of many possible guesses. I do recall wondering when she was announced if she would really be ready to call it a day on her career. Yes, she had been around for a while, and the end eventually comes for everyone, but she had just been re-signed by the Sparks, and IIRC had also been named MVP of the Israeli League that same season. Could it be as simple as she missed playing and wanted to squeeze a few more years out or her career? Whatever the case, I love TJack, and if she's ever ready to come home again - in any capacity - I hope we welcome her with open arms. And no doubt we will!

What are your thoughts and speculation about who the next assistant might be? Do you think it might possibly or maybe even should be another alum?

Since she began coaching, and especially when the opportunities for assistants have cropped up, I’ve often wondered about the possibility of hiring Tai Dillard.

Find the best aspiring assistant available with some experience. Niele Ivey, Shea Ralph, the asst at MSST, who ever it is needs x and o experience. We need OFFENSE!!!

Now I'm wondering if Prince caught wind of all these changes and wanted out along with her other reasons for transferring.

Do any of our coaches get a Myers Briggs, Pymetrics, 4 Temperment of any other type of skills assessment? This should be the first step to determine if the person even has a teaching skillset for someone with no experience. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't, but this certainly not the type of job a university needs to be gambling on.

:lmao:If passing those tests were a pre-requisite for collegiate coaching I'm afraid we'd lose about 80% of the coaches currently working!

    FWIW, I found elsewhere.
