    Let the smear campaign begin.

She has no chance, in my opinion, of getting the Democratic nomination. But Gabbard is straight forward about who she is and what her stances are on issues. She’s for universal health care (Medicare for all) which alienated the right, and she is against regime change wars and denounces the Saudis which makes her person non grata to the establishment. Most democrats oppose her because they are cowards as she calls them out. In the video below, you might forward to the Q and A to get frank answers about foreign policy and especially Saudi Arabia. Or view from the 5:00 to 8:00 mark in the speech.

Her takedown of Harris was legendary. She still has no chance but she's one of the few on either side who actually debates on relevant issues rather than just pandering.

If only Tulsi was smart on economics. I would vote for her.

Medicare for all is fiscal suicide. I guess math has become a Republican talking point.

She is former military and accused Trump of supporting Al Queda. Her takedown of Harris aside, she is just as loony as the rest of the candidates.

    Dennis Kucinich's take --
“Tulsi Gabbard is somebody who actually speaks to Democratic values in ways that Republicans can understand. And I think we have to have that kind of fluency to get past partisan differences.”

    One possibility.
Gabbard carried water for biden this week by attacking Harris. She has no shot of winning the primary but would make a very appealing VP on an old white man's ticket.

The establishment parties have been broken by Trump. I think that is his greatest accomplishment.

But see, I have heard other sources about the Syrian war. Tulsi is correct.

I have seen video and heard other reporters on the ground say the same things Tulsi is saying.

That doesn't mean Assad is a good guy or that there isn't a good reason to rebel against him. However, the that Washington Post article is carrying a false narrative too.

Notice that the WP doesn't name the rebels that are being hurt by Assad. The US military has claimed there are moderate rebels since Obama decided to get involved. But those moderate groups have never been named. All the rebels groups that have been named are Islamic radicals who kill religious minorities and other less radical Muslims. Al Qaeda and ISIS are the rebels fighting Assad. If there are others, please name them and describe who they are and what they are up to.

Here is another nail in the coffin of the false narrative of that article, the Kurds are a hated minority in Syria, Iraq, and Turkey. Guess who they are fighting in Syria? It ain't Assad. It's ISIS.

Not only is it fiscal suicide, but you would be dead before you ever got to see a doctor. In any large city in TX you have to wait 4-5 hours just to get a drivers license.

Maybe Tulsi could be convinced economic freedom is just as important if not the source of all other freedoms? If so, I would vote for her in a second.

Tulsi with Dave Rubin -- The US’ immigration system -
    “is not working for anybody.
It’s not working for our economy,
it’s not working for our businesses,
it’s not working for our farmers,
it’s not working for our families”

Even when I disagree with her, she tends to make her point using reasonable arguments that deserve a reasonable response. That right away probably means she won't win. Especially when she's somewhat of an outsider and a member of the Party of Superdelegates.

Tulsi is an outsider because of her foreign policy views. The Deep State, R and D, hates her for understanding what is going on in Syria and Afghanistan.

That was so easy to see early on with certain pieces attacking her basically before she even got started -- placed in the WAPO and NYT

The fact that the only ongoing politician discussion thread here, other than Trump bashing, is about TG and is telling. No poop flinging or conspiracies just conversation and workout critique. Watching that video she seems level headed and honest towards issues and not extreme nor rhetorical. If this can happen here I bet it's going on many boards. I'll toss it out that she may be more of a contender than some may think. Moderate liberals may be hesitant to openly support her in fear of being criticized like many Trump supporters were during the last election. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

What do you think the US response if any should be?

Quite frankly, I have no qualms with a country that is attacked being the one to make a decision on whether they desire American intervention...any manner of intervention has the very real potential to harm Saudi Arabia whereas we sustain the inconvenience of slightly elevated fuel pricing.

And, if Saudi burns while not asking for help, we potentially get even more of the Alaskan drilling, which would be a GOOD thing for the USA.

The Founders would throw most of today's politicians in jail for treason if alive today. Getting involvement in a regional, religious dispute between Houthis in Yemen and Saudi Arabia would be anathema to them. Very foolish.
