My prediction is the Peter Buttigieg will be the Democratic candidate in 2020. He is the most Obama like of all the Democrats. I think he will rally the young and idealistic to his side.

"Powerful forces" are trying to chase one of our girls out of the race

“But apparently there's some very powerful forces that want to make sure I'm not in that third debate so I must be doing something right if they've worked so hard to create that.”

Apparently she criticized the overprescription of anti-depressants

She came under fire after her remark that the clinical depression diagnosis was a “scam” surfaced. She apologized for the comment earlier this month.

She also once posted a Twitter message after actor Robin Williams’ death, suggesting it was related to the use of antidepressants. The tweet linked to an article written by an organization funded by the Church of Scientology, which doesn’t believe in psychiatry

By the way, she is a local. Went to Bellaire High

Harris is attempting to fight back against criticisms of her performance in the prosecutor's office. But here she is just clowning herself. Michael Brown was an armed robber thug who tried to kill a cop. The compromises you have to make to be a Democrat .....

He only loosened the lugnuts. The real work is jacking the car up (at least if they don't have a floor jack) and dismounting the tire, which they didn't show. I wouldn't let Beta do any of that. He'd hurt himself.

Some political consultant probably made a lot of money coming up with this idea.
"How can we show he's a 'normal person,' instead of a furry, son a judge, married to a billionaire's daughter, who has skated his whole life away based on privilege?
I got it! Let's stage a video of him spontaneously changing a tire!"
This seems to be the one constant with Beto. He is surrounded by political handlers who keep making themselves wealthy by pushing him out there, telling him he has a chance to win.

And who knows? Maybe 20 or 30 years years ago he might have actually had a chance. Before anti-white, anti-hetero-male bigotry consumed liberals. The name of his auto-bio could be "Peaked Just A Little Too Late."

This is saying a lot but that is the fakest thing I have seen about O'Rourke.

Wearing a cap with a long sleeve and slacks in the summer, strikes me as something a super poser would do.

If you dont already know, the Houston Chronicle has been run out of San Francisco since the late 1980s. This is something that you notice every day even if you dont subscribe. It's hard to avoid. Their corporate goal is not being the paper of record for the biggest city in the state but rather flipping the state leg and keeping Dems in control in DC. Even the "Business Section" is run by a farking Marxist. The whole thing is ridiculous.

So, anyway, the Chron tried to build up Beto O'Rourke for a long time. First, they prayed to Allah that he would knock off Cruz.
From 2018 -- Beto's “command of issues that matter to this state, his unaffected eloquence and his eagerness to reach out to all Texans” made him “one of the most impressive candidates this editorial board has encountered in many years.”
Then they begged him to run for President.
Where he was so unimpressive, he never got above 2%

    And now?

Now they are telling him to get out of the race!
    Why?
    To run for the Senate!
    Again!
    hahaha

    Chron editorial board --
"Drop out of the race for president and come back to Texas to run for senator."

The former congressman was asked by a reporter whether he believes President Trump can do something to de-escalate anti-illegal immigrant fervor. “Um, what do you think?” O’Rourke answered. “You know the **** he’s been saying. He’s been calling Mexican immigrants rapists and criminals. I don’t know. … Like, members of the press — what the f--k? It’s these questions that you know the answers to.”

“Is that language presidential? Not normally. It certainly isn’t the normal fare for an editorial page in the Sunday paper, either, with or without the asterisks,” its editorial board writes. “But it struck us as so unscripted, so unexpected that its offense was somehow washed away.”
The Houston Chronicle is a complete and total clown show.

Beto, come home. Texas needs you. [Editorial]

Translation - "Beta, we don't trust your leftism enough, so we won't help you beat real leftists in the Democratic presidential nomination race. We'll call you out for being the massive you tool that you are. However, if you run for the Senate again, we [the media] will start saying nice things about you again."

They dont even try to persuade people anymore (they used to at least make that effort, back in the day). Now they just tell people, "this is what you should do." They dont even attempt an argument -- they make no effort to explain why this or that policy position would be better for you or your state in either the short or long term. Now it's just "we are smarter and better than you, we are from Northern California after all, so just do what we say."

The Chronicle is horrid. This is going back in time now, but the Post always had the better writers. The competition from the Post made the Chronicle better. But when the Post was subsumed, it all went downhill, never to recover. And Houston has been the worse for it ever since.

I don't see how Biden can remain the Dem front runner for much longer.

Trump misspoke by calling Dayton, Toledo, but Joltin' Joe couldn't name either city the day after. He mumbled something about "Houston" and "Michigan". He's kind of pitiful. He reminds me of Mr. Magoo.

There was a reason the Obama Administration put Biden on ice during Obama's second term. He was only thawed out in order to attend state funerals that Obama didn't want to attend. And that was almost a decade ago.

At some point they're going to have to turn to Warren or, God forbid, Bernie.

This so called "Red Flag" idea would be the biggest blow to individual rights in my lifetime. Whatever happened to "you're innocent until proven guilty"? Most of the recent mass shooters passed back ground checks. In most cases there was no reason to think they were about to do what they did. They hid their plans until they were ready to act on them and it was too late for a "red flag" law to take action.

I don't think such a law would stand up in anybody's court, even the Ninth Circuit, unless the Dems also followed through on their "court packing" threats too.

Individual rights mean absolutely nothing to todays Democratic party. We're in a world of **** if the Dems win in 2020. We need to keep them out of power until some measure of sanity begins to seep back into the party.

Many of the latest mass shooters gave hints on social media and internet forums. Red flag laws could be an assist for families and those close to a person who is showing violent leanings.

I can't think of a way to involve citizens and the state together to prevent violent acts.

I personally would be okay with private militia or a posse given the responsibility to prevent violence in their neighborhood. However, it would take a huge culture shift to get the men of families and communities to do this kind of self policing. There would also be friction with state law enforcement if this became common, especially when it didn't go smoothly and/or the potential offender called the cops on them for violating his rights.

If there isn't another proposal of some sort it sounds much like the desire is to just let it happen. To never intervene and sort it out after it happens.

I am sympathetic to those who are against Red Flag laws. I see danger in them too. But see them as a way to combat violence in a targeted way.

I'm not sure I understand the controversy. Israeli law allows the banning of BDS supporters from entering. I don't see any reason to not enforce their own laws just because some wingnuts in Michigan and Minnesota were dumb enough to elect BDS supporters to Congress. I could understand more if they were visiting as diplomats, but that isn't the case. It's just a couple of nuts trying to go to Israel.
